The restaurant doesnât look attractive at all. There is some outdoor seating, but even in August, you are sitting inside a big tent.Their pizza and salads, even though simple, are fantastic. The house Chianti is not good at all.It is located outside, down the hill, from San Casciano, so you will need a car to go there.

We wandered around San Casciano looking for a pizzeria, and almost missed this place as it was up a side street. Thankfully we went in despite thinking that it looked like a school canteen. Lots of white tables with colours chairs and place mats that looked suspiciously like IKEA's cafe.It was very busy and the service was great - although they probably don't get many English speakers asking questions. They gave us a menu in English, but my husband wanted anchovies and artichokes on his pizza - this got lost in translation and he ended up with no anchovies.Regardless of that, the 3 of us who had pizza all agreed that we could not remember having had a nicer one anywhere else before! It was delicious - with a lovely thin base and plenty of cheese. The crucifix on the wall, with sky sports playing on a large tv on another wall was very bizarre, but each to their own!

If you like truffles, have the sausage, truffle cream pizza...I will be dreaming about it for a while now that I am back in Canada. So delicious! Great salads, wine, view, profiteroles. It's not much to write home about in appearance but it is EXCELLENT. We accidentally came across it and it was one of our favourite meals in Italy. We went back a second time and with so many great options in Tuscany, that says a lot!

Little deli, best choice for a bite-and-go. Variety at good prices.
This place is small street deli. Just like the one we have in the states in every grocery store but very limited selection. Small family, I am guessing mother and son operation. I donât know who Cesare is but if is the young man when I was there twice I can say Cesare speak English and is very nice and helpful. We try almost everything they have lasagna, grilled chicken, pizza, potatoes, grilled vegetables. Well, it was ok. I had better lasagna home from Costco. Pizza was run-of-the-mill but that's ok I did not have good pizza in Tuscany wherever I try so don't complain about that at least we did not have bad experience like from the place just across this one. So I would say if you crossing this place and if you hungry and want to spend just few bucks go ahead this is the place but to come especially for the food and consider that you can reach this place only by food, I don't think so.Dear guest, thanks for your comment on our page!We are glad that you've been fine in our place and we'll be happy to see you again soon!Anna and Cesare.

Pizza has been there for ages and evolved to many things - from Napoli-style on one hand to a variety of deep-pan-cheese-in-the-crust-pineapple containing monstrosities. Lo Spela made a step forward, experimenting with a variety of dough types and creating new types of toppings (kind of like the I Tigli in Verona). They are very good in it and the pizza tasting menu that we got was a perfect balance between traditional and daringly new. Since we were a group, we were even able to arrange a short demo before the dinner to see how a quick and easy dough is made (Lo Spela proofs most of its doughs for at least 24 hours, though).A perfect creme brulee dessert was a nice end of a simple, but definitely not fast-food dinner.

We are Giulia, Maria, Alvaro, Silvia and Lorenzo, we live in Tuscany, we love its territory, fragrances and colours all along. We and our efficient collaborators constitute the "Ristorante Casalta", a place founded on our great passion: tasty and healty c
The place has a wonderful large balcony in the back that affords some views of the rolling hills and has a great breeze. The waiter was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We ordered the salmon carpaccio to start with. The fish was sliced into cubes instead of sheets, make for great bites. I ordered the pizza sam, it was amazing! A mix of cheeses and fresh tomatoes with olive oil drizzled across the top. The crust was done perfectly, thin but with some bounce, the sauce was flavorful and well seasoned, and the cheeses were fresh and flavorful. Heaven in a bite. My wife ordered the pasta with boor sauce. I didnt get a bite because I had pizza on my mind.......but she said it was just perfect.

This place is located off the beaten path, in a valley at a high end equestrian stables. There is ample parking in the front and rear, as well as access to the restaurant from both locations. Walking in there are plenty of friendly horses with their heads sticking out of their stables for both the adults and children to enjoy. There is an enormous amount of outdoor and indoor seating with lots of staff (good service), but you should call ahead for a reservation. They are very child friendly here. The restaurant is very modern. They have a nice wine list, and they even have a large selection of beers on tap. We have been there a number of times, both for pizza and for fish. The pizzas are outstanding. Their dough is made of a freshly milled organic local flour and their ingredients are the freshest possible. We have tried quite a variety of their pizzas and all were excellent. On one trip, the crust was quite salty, but every other trip was excellent. Do not discount their fish menu, their fish is also excellent!!! They make amazing desserts, save room!

We found this place while traveling Chianti and visiting ceramic shops. Their food and wine are excellent and the view on the terrace made our lunch time so beautiful! Withe wine, Chardonnay blend locally grown and made for them. We also enjoyed their olive oil. Wife and husband ran restaurant first class experience.

The food here is fabulous. We had tasty clams and mussels to start and fried octopus with clams and mussels second. We then shared a diavola pizza which was amazing. Dominic was our waiter on the 2 occasions we dined here and he was extremely welcoming, friendly and funny and gave us the excellent recommendation of visiting San Gimignano. I would highly recommend this restaurant
