I live in Atlanta but travel to San Jose Costa Rica for my employer which operates an office there. For four years I have been taking large groups of my employees here for lunch. They love it!!The manager always accommodates our group with a reservation. We order traditional and vegetarian pizzas, salads and desserts. The pizzas are thin crust and taste just like the fancy pizzas I order back in Atlanta which are made from Double Zero flour imported from Italy.Great food and service!!

International restaurant with a warm atmosphere located in San Antonio de Belen, Heredia. It has a delicatessen shop, cafeteria, gastrobar and pizzeria. Open from 7 am to 10 pm, every day. Parking with 24 hour security.
Extremely comfortable and attractive interior rooms and also a pleasant open patio to enjoy the breeze and shade. The menu is extensive, well planned, and executed by experts. My Italian selections were just as good or maybe even better than even the Sapore downtown, plus delicious homemade rolls. I shall be returning whenever I have the opportunity or reason to visit San Jose, definitely worth a trip to the La Riviera. Plenty of easy, safe parking here too on the premises of the contiguous hotel.

Average pizza, calzones, etc., good service, average prices. Stopped the night prior to catching a flight back to USA. Had a pizza and asked for double pepperoni but barely got a normal supply. Thin crust. Decent flavor. The calzone was a supreme -- just okay, good size, very filling. Probably would not return. But the help was very nice.

Nice new place in town. O pen air and very comfortable. Great for watching sports. Large menu with bocas, pizza, hamburgers, tacos, fajitas, Costa Rican dishes and of course ribs. Eaten there several times and food has been really good. Prices are average to high but good value for the money. If you have the ribs be prepared to take half home with you. Ribs are a great share item as the portion is huge with several sides. Only thing lacking good service and attention to the guest, but the food is great.

Lo Spago was a good authentic Italian Restaurant and since that is my favourite it was no surprise I would be a little more critical of the food, the wine and the desserts. We were greeted by friendly staff, sat immediately and able to order some good Chianti. The pasta choice were plentiful and the wait staff were more than willing to explain whatever you needed them to. We got our meals and were feeling pretty good about our choices when I saw something that made me so jealous. The people at the next table had order pasta in a cheese cream sauce. No big deal right? Wrong, the staff had brought over a side table upon which sat a full round of Parmigiano cheese, and in one hand he held a torch. He was mixing something up (I assume some cream), and scraping cheese off as he melted it from the middle of what can only be called a giant cheese bowl. Yes, I said it, he was mixing the sauce up right in the Parmigiano cheese itself. Then he tosses in the pasta and mixes it around as well. He swirls and mixes and then finally pulls it out and plates it. My mouth is watering just thinking of it, still do not know what it was called but I want to try it. Okay, so for dessert, they did not have my favourite Bachio Negro, but they did have Tartufo which was almost as good and excellent as far as desserts go. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the Italian food, the atmosphere and the desserts.
