After a bad experience at the Front Street Trattoria some years ago, my wife and I avoided the restaurant until last week. We were attending a concert across the street and were looking for a casual meal before the concert. We each ordered a pasta dish, assuming that it would be quick at an Italian restaurant. Even though the Trattoria was nearly empty, it took almost 30 minutes for our food to come -- in a near empty restaurant. A loaf of bread did arrived after about 15 minutes. It was warm on the outside, but cold on the inside. We queried our waitress several times about the fate of our dishes, but she seemed as clueless as we were. When my spaghetti finally arrived, the pasta was lukearm, with watery sauce. When I returned the dish to be reheated, the pasta came back mushy and just about inedible. I didn't return it because we were due at the concert and didn't have time. My wife's bolognese sauce was oddly sweet and off-tasting. We both ate very little of our dishes and didn't bother taking them home. I note that the restaurant does get some good reviews, but mainly for the pizza. Maybe we just had bad luck or maybe the pizza is notable. However, if you have a taste for great pasta and sauces, Red Bank has some notable Italians, including Buona Sera, just a few blocks away, much nicer and not much more expensive. As for Front Street Trattoria, two strikes is enough. We'll never go back.

Came back here last night and Zoni's was better than ever! The special of fried octopus tentacles was tremendous!! Served with a nice spicy sauce, this was really a terrific dish. Their special salad was very fresh and good. The star of the show though was our pizza margharita- perfectly charred with and excellent chewy crust....totally perfectly made. This little place is a hidden gem....well priced with good service. The owners are very proud of what they have here and it totally shows in the food they serve.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Went on a Saturday evening before show at Two River. Made reservation but did not need to as restaurant is large and only about 2/3 full at 7:00pm. Service was good and staff was courteous. We ordered a full dinner and the only problem was that the food was terrible. My veal parmigiana was not edible and they took it back and brought me a shrimp parmigiana instead (and they charged me for the more expensive dish). The shrimp was also tasteless. My wife's chicken dish was also tasteless. The pasta was also very bad. Prices were ok if the food was good, which it was not. I gave this restaurant 2 stars only because of the proximity to the theatre - and maybe the pizza is good, but we will never go back to find out.

The staff were amazingly friendly and welcoming. The décor was comfortable and family friendly. The food - very, very good! Like eating at Nana's. There isn't a liquor license (common in New Jersey, apparently), but you can bring your own bottle of wine if desired.

Brothers has been recently remodeled. It has been my "go to" place for pizza since I started working in Holmdel 53 years ago! Unfortunately, the new layout is quite loud, especially during the busy hours. For instance, using Soundprint, a sound meter for restaurants, the decibel level at dinner was 83 mostly due to large family gatherings with small, yelling children! Other than that, it's great!

Red Banks Family Style Italian Restaurant
For a family style place I will give this a four but itâs probably closer to a three and a half. I have been to the one in Brooklyn twice and that was five stars both times. I thought the food hereWas good but not nearly at the same level as the spot in Brooklyn. Eggplant parmigiana was good but a little cold, calamari very good, lobster ok but well below Brooklynâs, pasta good but not great, desert average and skirt steak was very average. Chicken was awesome and tender. Baked clams very good. Will probably opt for Brooklyn if I have a choice. Servers were very good and attentive. Great if your having a small gathering or party

Urban CoalHouse is an Italian Restaurant & Bar where you will enjoy award-winning coal oven wings, delicious appetizers, selection of artisan old-world style pizza, pasta, dinners, and a wide selection of craft beer.
I would have given this restaurant 3.5 stars if I could. First visit was fine: good pizza, attentive service, right across the street from theater. Noise level was fine when I was there, but I'm sure it's very loud when the place is full. It's really a sports bar kind of restaurant, with a zillion TV sets in all directions, which is distracting.

Sadly, hadn't been here in quite a while - our prior, over the years experiences here were always outstanding - boy are we glad, for sure, we were in the neighborhood and stopped for lunch - beautiful facility, excellent service, and, our favorite, the signature Crackling Calamari Salad, was even more terrific than our terrific memories of it - super tender and delicious calamari mixed with top quality mixed greens and spiced just right - all the food at the adjoining tables, including sandwiches and sushi rolls, looked super too - really, really interesting menu choices with high quality ingredients expertly prepared and beautifully plated and served - kudos to the owner and staff

Our group of 5 went for a post-graduation dinner and all appeared to be happy with our choices. The service and menu were excellent. Killed to have one of their craft beers which I enjoyed. They served a selection of assorted breads with our drinks. We ordered a house salad which was large enough for 3 of us to share. The menu was extensive and everyone had different selections which we all enjoyed. The wait staff here very attentive. Overall excellent experience
