Good restaurant with a typical menu, very friendly staff once we got over the fact that I wasn't french, as I speak Italian with a French accent. Very clean . Very affordable. Restaurant was full and they were doing a roaring trade in take away. Seems to say it all really.

On May 30, 2016, my wife, two daughters, and I arrived in Pontedera by train. We bought tickets for the bus to Volterra. It was almost noon, and we had enough time for lunch before our bus departed. On a recommendation from the ticket agent at the bus stop, we headed for La Serafina - turn to the left as you exit the bus station, go to the street at the end of the square, cross the street and turn to the left - and in a half a block, we were at the restaurant.What a great experience! We had a delicious lunch, the kind waitress made sure we were well taken care of and on our way in plenty of time, the restaurant was clean and inviting - it was the perfect lunch. I wish I'd written down what everyone had, but I didn't - but I can say everyone cleaned their plate! My pasta had bacon and local vegetables, and was superb. An the meal was a bargain, at 25 Euros.If you are making a connection in Pontedera by train or bus, and have time for a meal, I cannot recommend La Serafina too highly. It is very convenient to both stations. And I suspect its a great meal if you are staying in Pontedera, too - maybe some day I'll find out!

In a Sunday evening struggling for a quiet place to dine along our way back home, we stumbled upon this place. It was a bit early that night, 7.30pm, but being the very first customers puzzled us about the quality of the venue.Any doubt was soon dispersed when we got a hot pot with caciocavallo cheese stuffed with eggplant, raisin and pine nuts cooked in the oven. As said this was very hot but delicious as you could taste any single tone and all together they felt superb. The other main course was a pasta dish, fusilli al ferretto seasoned with friarielli (a type of broccoli) and pecorino cheese scales. Pasta was hand made, for real, it resembled the kind of compactness I obtain on my own, but much better. Our children shared gnocchi sorrentina style (mozzarella cheese and tomatoes). The bread for the cover was made out of pizza dough and well presented in a paper cone.Decor is modern, with white and black chairs under wooden tables, while walls are painted in abstract designs in dark colours and hanging some paintings; the whole atmosphere results a bit gloomy rather than nice.Overall the place is cozy, the service is warm and welcoming, even for children and the food is very good, so I recommend it.

Had a delicious pasta meal here on Sunday 24th April 2016. The service was excellent, the waiters were almost running around the whole restaurant to give great service to all it's customers. It's a very busy restaurant, so I'd recommend booking a table in advance. I will definitely come back to Ci Ritorno next time I'm in Pontedera and can truly recommend this place to anyone considering eating out here.

Fabulous authentic Italian food can be enjoyed either in the lively cafe outside, or in the quieter restaurant inside. The staff are very warm and welcoming, and it was very reasonably priced. Amazing desserts.

We made reservations on Monday for Thursday evening. Upon arrival they remembered that we booked, but had forgotten to write it down and so no table, no pizza, no niente. Donât waste your time here!We are very very sorry for the misunderstanding. The day you called to reserve the table we were closed, so the reservation was not recorded. We apologize and we ask you to come back to us so we can offer you a free complete meal.

La cittadella è un grande locale molto vicino allo svincolo della superstrada. Devo dire la verità , ero un po' prevenuta, pensavo fosse il classico grosso ristorante senz'anima e senza qualità da zona industriale.Invece la pizza era discreta, buono l'impasto e oltre alle classiche si poteva scegliere fra diverse pizze gourmet molto sfiziose e particolari. Peccato che il forno non fosse a legna, la pizza aveva quindi la classica tostatura dei forni elettrici. Davvero peccato, con un forno a legna sarebbe stata una pizza veramente ottima.

After reading the reviews on tripadvisor we decided to eat here. It took a while to find the place but it was worth it. The pizza was very good and the staff very friendly. I was offered a piece of their speciality to try (torta di ceci), which was something I had never seen before and throughly enjoyed.
