Excellent value! Very different (in a good way!) pizza than most places in and around Chicago. Very good appetizers and pasta dishes, too; baked, not fried. Very enthusiastic service. They have an old-school Ms. PacMan machine too!

When visiting the Chicago area, my family and I must make at least one visit to Salerno's in Oak Park. (My wife and I have been going to Salerno's for 20 years.) The food--not just the pizza--is professionally prepared and presented. We normally order pizza, salads, and wine/beer. This holiday, we ordered canole for dessert; it was as heavenly as canole gets...fresh and flavorful. The interior of the restaurant exudes warmth with dark colored woods and crisp white linen table cloths. It was especially beautiful with holiday lights throughout the restaurant and bar. The service is always good, but this time it was outstanding...very attentive without being obtrusive. This was a great holiday experience for our whole family. We'll continue to go to Salerno's in Oak Park.
I gave this an "average" only because of the initial wait time. I think when we were there, it was relatively new, and they didn't have all the bugs worked out yet for the ordering process. When we have been to other locations, there was one person taking the order and then others making the pizza. This one appeared to not have enough help, or maybe didn't figure out the process yet. We waited about 10 minutes just to put our order in, and there were only a few people in front of us. But the person who took the order, then went to help make the pizza, so the process was pretty slow. Hopefully they will get that figured/worked out. Once we got our pizzas, all was good. One of the employees (assuming maybe manager) came to our table at least twice to check and see how everything was and asked if we needed anything else. Given that they are apparently new, I would go back if in the area, and hope that all would be worked out by then. Definitely worth another shot!
We have met extended family members here and have always had delicious pizza with the beers. I really enjoyed the Kentucky Common. Light taste, but good substance! We've been to a few small breweries and most do not have any food. It's worth going just for the homemade woodfire pizza. It's been a great find for us!

Rocky's is a wonderful, little restaurant that offers authentic, homemade Sicilian style dishes and pizza from recipes handed down to Tony Savarino by his father.
Thereâs nothing like a Chicago style pizza. The thin cracker crust, medley of fresh ingredients and cheese, definitely plenty of that. Rockyâs gets it right. Nothing flashy or trendy, just homemade pizza done right. The staff is always pleasant and willing to accommodate guests wishes. Theyâre just the best. Rockyâs is a Westchester gem.

I drove to North Riverside to visit with and family before our flight to Greece. After I came in, I was asked did I want Fish and Chips or Italian. I told them I had fish Wed. evening. So we went to La Barra. I expected better after reading the history of La Barra. I compare the food to a Italian Restaurant in Lexington, Ky. I found La Barra did not compare. The portion I had was small. The wait staff was very efficient. I would not go back if I was not in a group. The Grandkids enjoyed their selection of food. Everyone has their on taste in food. The tiramisu was the best.

Arrived at opening and we were warmly greeted by Roberto. After viewing the menu and given warm bread with olive oil, Roberto answered some menu questions. We ordered and thoroughly enjoyed Gnocchi alla Vodka and Penne Prosciutto e Piselli. Both meals were EXCELLENT and presented well.

The place is legendary and proves every time why!I always come in ready to buy a particular item. But my mind usually changes when I see the food displayed! Some fabulous food just calls my name and I have to get it.Just the other day, I came in open minded and the chicken parm and rice balls were calling me. They were awesome continuing the long amazing track record of great food from Freddyâs.Pizza, gelato and everything they make and sell is special. Do yourself a favor and experience Freddyâs!

This would be great pizza if it were the 1970s, and your other options were Little Caesarâs and Dominos. However, in the 21st Cenrtury, there are so many better options, even among national chains. Visitors to Chicago who feel compelled to try Chicago deep dish will find it here. Just donât confuse it with GOOD pizza. Hi Eric, we are sorry to see you had a disappointing experience with us.
