Cantinone Restaurant is located in the historic center of Lugano between Chiattone Hill and Cioccaro Square, at the intersection of the six districts that originally made up the nucleus of the village. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it has belonged
Found this by accident whilst walking round Lugano. My wife and I had bruschetta and asparagus respectively. Both excellent and big portions. Staff (especially Danijel) were mist helpful as we spoke no Italian. We were the only tourists amongst the business community of Lugano having their lunch ! No one rushed us to leave and there is plenty of room upstairs though we were in a nice corner on the ground floor. Well recommended, though it is on the expensive side (as are all Lugano restaurants !)

Popular restaurant, also well known from local people. AL BARILOTTO is designed with a rustic and casual local style, you will enjoy our grill specialties (only original Swiss meat) and our pizzas with special 48 hours rising dough. The restaurant Al Bari
I was staying at the hotel next door and popped in here for pizza. It was amazing. The crust was very light and thin and the sauce was fabulous. It was reasonably priced for the pizza too $16 for cheese. They do offer takeaway pizza but they charge a few more dollars per pizza. The other menu items looked delicious as well. Dear Jilfurness, thank you very much for the great score and the excellent review! We are really happy to read that you enjoyed our tasty wood fire oven baked pizzas and we hope to welcoming you again, so that you may try the fresh seasonal proposals as well. A presto!Guest Relations

They speak only in Italian and they donât want to speak in another language (English). We got pizza after 30 minutes, but some another Italian guests who came after us, got their pizza earlier than we do. And finally pizza was really good, but in general I can recommend this restaurant just for locals, we felt bad in this restaurant.why do we have to speak other languages in our house? Here is a restaurant not a convention center. You have too much presumptionWhat law requires us to speak other languages?mahThis is the result of globalization but, we are sorry, we are old-fashioned, we are traditional artisans. This is also our food. You're off topic and out of time, we do not make it upset. If we want to hear your complaints then we must also change the kitchen; we have to introduce frozen foods, ready meals, canned and dehydrated foods.Because if you accuse us of being traditionalists it means that you can not understand that this is also the food we prepare and put in your stomach. As we say in these cases, go to McDonald's there you will feel at home, certainly not in Naples

We decided to visit this restaurant based on a suggestion from a friend in Lugano. The owner-chef has delighted us with a fantastic "zuppa di pesce" and pasta with seafood. Great value and good pizzas(that we ordered for the children). We will be back...

Here for the first time, i arrive with a friend of mine at 19.45. we stay outside, with a good point of view on the television just to follow the football match (i asked it during the reservation by phone 4 hours before). Nice welcoming of the girl at the restaurant, who describes us the list of special dishes (first and seconds) but we prefer to eat this fantastic pizza (napoletan style). i take 4 season (4 stagioni), with vegetables. Both pizzas come to us in 15 minutes with coke too. The view is very nice, no burn around or under and the taste is very good! i eat it very slowly just to satisfy my stomach. After Pizza we take dessert, they are all fresh and home-made! i take pastiera napoletana, it's like a cake with inside ricotta and sweets. It's wonderful! For the end, coffee. Total, for each 28chf, very good price if i compare respect other restaurants in Lugano area. Very recommended for the menù, location and price!

In the Italian Lakes you can have an equivalent experience to that in Lugano, in terms of beautiful surroundings. Same in the French Alps. But only in Lugano will you find average, unexceptional food: that is the norm in Lugano - it is AVERAGE. The Domino conforms. Much of the food is pre-prepared. The waiting staff are "just doing their job". The prices are spectacularly high. Wines are greedily marked-up. I'm not just singling out the Domino for these comments; the same applies to 95% of the eating places in Lugano - just look at the number of "Poor" and "Terrible" on the reviews!

ARGENTINO is realy an italian restaurant. It could be quite busy, because of its central location. A good place for a quick or long lunch (as you wish). Their service is well responsive and the food is well prepared. No complains on my side at all.

I recently went for a bday party to Pizzeria al Sole after several years. The place is conveniently located close to a bus stop, and has several parking lots in front of it. The building is very old and would need renovation, as paint was bad (at least where we were seated) and tables/paintings are not very nice looking.Staff was very friendly as was the owner though, and we really appreciated.Food was in general very generous and of decent quality (although not outstanding).Overall I would go back, since prices are honest and portions big. It is also family-friendly in case you have children.

We tried to find a nice spot in the city for lunch but left 2 other establishments because of no service. Came across Vitti and immediately liked the ambience. The lady serving us was extremely friendly and very helpful to assist in compiling a vegan friendly lunch menu. The food was very good but the standout was the service.Dear kaichen88, Thank you for choosing Vitti and for your recent visit in Our lovely lugano.
