Excellent Traditional Family Restaurant. Waukegan's oldest institution. They have hot buttered bread they generously place upon your table. The pizza and Broasted chicken are awesome. Every entree and salad is perfectly plated for your visual and enjoyment.

"From traditional Napoli style pizzas, out of our handmade, Acunto Wood Fire Oven, to "da" Chicago classics straight from Little Italy, we've merged our Windy City roots with our Italian heritage to present to you, "Chicago Wood Fire Pizza Co."
We decided to try Chicago Woodfire again. The first time we had it, we took the pizza out and it was horrible. Our DIL ordered a salad, and three of us decided to share the special - two pizzas, garlic bread twists and chicken bites. We thought that was the appetizers. The chicken bites and twists came out after the pizzas did. The pizzas sat under lights (we were able to see it from our seats) for a good 7 minutes at least. The garlic bread twists didn't even taste like there was garlic and it was the pizza dough. Our DIL's salad came out after we were pretty much finished with our meal. Her salad, they said, was made wrong and they had to make it again. The manager should have come over to apologize but she was "smoozing" with a couple in a booth for the majority of the time we were there. We asked her for water but she sent the waitress. The manager, however, was giving this couple beer, wine and water so of course, we felt like we were not important or anything. The salad came over and was drenched in salad dressing. She didn't eat it (except for the chicken on it.) It was crowded for lunch - at least 15 tables by the time we left. The manager, again, should not have catered to one particular table - she should have helped the servers and if things went wrong, she should have made amends. The food was no better than the first time, therefore, we won't go back.

Jimanos, formerly Jimmy's, is the pizza joint closest to our house. It is our go to place if we want a quick carry out. The pizza is generally good and hot (just be sure to get there 5-7 mins before they say it will be ready.) What is really frustrating though is that every now and then we get one that is not quite right; crust too thick, burnt on the bottom, ingredients that don't seem quite as fresh, just not quite there. Seems like better training or better quality control or oversight is in order.

The Italian specialties were very good. However we were disappointed when a member of our party ordered salmon. Normally the server will ask about the customer's preference regarding the degree of doneness, since salmon can be served in a number of ways. When served, part of it was rare. When sent back, it was still returned medium. By then, the member of our party had lost their appetite. No further follow-up was made. One item that we found to be very surprising was that our server was wearing a bracelet with the word "f***" on it. We couldn't believe that this was permitted. Owner needs to enforce some level of dress code.

We stopped in after a day at Six Flags and ordered two large pizzas to share among the 8 adults. There was plenty of food, although our order was mixed up (We ordered buffalo chicken pizza, but got BBQ chicken). It was so late we didn't have the energy to complain and just ate what we were served. The Chicken Alfredo Pizza was the best by far of the two was had. Prices were decent.

The food is affordable and really delicious. The family had a large thin crust pizza and I had a Calzone. They said the pizza was really good. The calzone was one of the best I ever had. First of all, it was big. Then it was filled with tons of savory pepperoni and cheese. It was life-changing. Lol. No but it was superb to say the least. Great location right down the road from Six Flags in Gurnee, IL. A must for the family.

We were in the area on a Saturday evening because of our son's baseball game. We decided to stop here before driving the hour plus drive home. We have four kids, so we are a party of 6. We were told it would be about a 30 minute wait for a table, but we could pre-order so our food would be ready when we arrived at our table. We ordered our food right away. It was pretty late for us, but we figured since the food would be ready close to when our table was, it would be ok still. We waited about 45 minutes for our table. Then we ended up waiting almost another hour at the table for our food. Not sure why it took so long. The waitress was pretty forgetful when we asked for items like utensils and water. It took us asking at least two times to get them. The food was really great, but if we would have known it would have taken so long, we would not have stayed there. By the time we were all done eating, my youngest was laying on my lap because he was so tired. The food was a 5 star, but the service and wait was way too long.

Local restaurant with an ecclectic menu: bar food, pizza, greek, Italian. They have TVs with sports Games throughout. I ordered the lemon chicken soup. I do not recommend this. it tasted like a can of cream of chicken soup and there was hardly any rice in it. The rice must have all absorbed into the soup. I should have tasted it prior, but it was not a good soup.
