If you wish to have a real good and soft pizza or some crispy and fresh salads sitting in the square with a castle on your side and historical buidings all around you , that's the place .Smell the local warm hospitality , the genuine good service and breath the Italianity of the surrounds.Good beer selection . Stumbled upon this hidden gem while visiting Gioia, and what a surprise! My friend and I had a really nice bottle od prosecco for a tenner only and two magnificent pizza (stacciatella + rocket , Pesto, pine and fiori di zucchini), absolutely mind blowing! The courtyard is set up in a gorgeous villa, the inside of the restaurant has a qwerky italian feel and the manager is really friendly. Speaks great english too which helped. 100% buonissimo.

We only had a short time to spend in this town and needed to eat. The Taverna was the first place we came to. How lucky for us. At her suggestion, the proprietoress served us an antipasti of four cold and four hot local dishes; all were delicious - and by the end we were too full for any further courses! And so very friendly and welcoming. We only wished we were in the town for longer - we would certainly have returned

I recentely discovered this place and I shall say that I keep returning always with pleasure . The burgundian sized owner, the lovely and funny Capurso waitress, the chef are all parts of an engine that provide great food, lovely ambience and friendly attention to the customer. It enjoys a spectacular location opening up on a square that late at night it evoques old gone elegance and timeless atmosphere .The menu is offering various options , from well prepared antipasti, to great pizzas and quality minded meats and pastas.Prices are correct and logical , a really good option to explore also this part of the town . I do recommend to book as the place is getting the attention it deserves .Lively and lovely ambience with a mix of trans-age clientele.See you soon

We so enjoyed our first traditional Gioia del Colle pasta dish here (orecchiette cime di rapa) that we came back for more food including great pizza unlike anything in the US. This is the kind of food that we'll so miss when we go back home. Staff was very friendly and service was good. Comfortable indoor and outdoor dining areas. We also did takeout.

Stopped here after a day out and so glad that we did. The staff couldn't do more for you and we enjoyed excellent food, including gluten free pasta, and great wine. There was a thunderstorm during our time at the restaurant and the staff were very helpful in ensuring we went the right way to our hotel. Thank you Il Cantico, we hope to come back!

After an all day touring the area, we needed an early dinner and this place fitted our requirement. It is open a bit earlier that all the local restaurants and the pizza was excellent even if the service was sometime a bit hit and miss.If one doesn't fancy going into Gioia and looking for somewhere to park the car, this is the place.

This place is excellent value and the pizzas are terrific. We ordered 5 pizzas for 6 people which were more than enough. Lovely garden setting out the back, very nice attentive service. 10 euros per person for pizzas, wine, aqua and 3 coffee so good value.

A pleasant experience, in this pizzeria , that was really crowded on a tuesday night .Space is quite limited so between the tables thre is hardly the space to move and conversation cannot be too intimate . If you wish to have a private place , you do not look for places like this. Service and staff extremely efficient and pleasant , timing of serving also adequate and balanced. You sit , you orde, you eat , you pay and go.They are focused on the world of pizza, that here is taken extremely seriously, the selection is hugely wide and you can even choose what type of dough bread you wish to have for your pizza ....imagine that Good and tasty salad selection , correct pricing , welcome to pizza kingdom
