This place has been around forever! It's changed hands a few times (I believe). But the pizza is still good. Small, Round, fresh dough. Saucey/cheesy...I ordered a plain & a pepperoni. The 2 tasted completely different! Not like...a plain pizza with pepperoni on it...it had it's own character (can pizzas have character?).Anyway...I've never been in the Bar. I always go to the "take out" side (it's really the kitchen that has a counter...nothing fancy here!)Give it a try...it's a nice diversion from the area's rectangular "trays" of pizza.

This is a regular stop for us. The Colarusso family operates a number of area restaurants including full service restaurants in Avoca and Clarks Summit, PA (with full service bars), and several remote restaurants serving pizzas, pastas salads and sandwiches. These latter have no bar but operate on a BYOB basis. This is one such location. The food is invariably well prepared and the service is friendly. We have never been disappointed.

We had a lunch here while in town on business and enjoyed it quite a bit. Service was fast and the staff friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was very clean. They have a nice varied menu and a well stocked bar. Prices are definitely fair.

Wednesday night at Grande Pizza is .40 steamers(clams). They are sand free and delicious. We order the antipasto and clams. Sometimes a pizza. They have good pizza, salads and soups. My husband also order a dinner that was sausage, meatballs and eggplant parmigiana with pasta. A big portion. It is brand new inside and the bar area is very nice.
Stopped by to pick up a take out order. Got one Cheesteak Sub and one Italian Sub, both were good. Bread was excellent. I was very disappointed that you had to pay $1.00 extra for cheese. Felt cheese should be included with Italian sub...especially since it was $8.50 without cheese. Other restaurants include cheese, I checked menus......and they were cheaper. Would have given it a higher rating if the prices were inline with other places.
We decided to try something different for lunch today and ended up at the the dependable Roosey again. Delightful Bartender/server. Food is always good specials, every day and always a change never the same old thing. The fish sandwich is delish and my husband had the oven hot italian hoagie. Also had the best fries (there are 4 types to choose from) Needless to say we will always comeback.

Visiting our son at University of Scranton who insisted we eat here. Great choice for reasonably mid-priced dinner from the delicious 3 super sized meatballs and whipped ricotta & chips to the entrees which included 2 daily specials - chopped entree salad and the pesto/ bay scallops/ linguine. The 1/4 roast chicken & vegetables hit the mark as well which was accompanied with a strawberry spinach salad. Finally we shared an delicious home made brownie (has nuts) with vanilla gelato. Note- only a few light salad selections to choose from to eat healthy

The food here is always very good and very reasonably priced. The sausage, peppers, and onions are among the best I've ever had! Almost everything is homemade. The family run operation provides a friendly atmosphere. If you need to have an event like a luncheon or dinner for a group (graduation, anniversary, etc) try their family owned banquet room across the street. "La Una" The same great food and reasonable prices AND they pour you a very nice glass of wine. :)

Read reviews and saw the place rated "#2 in Dunmore" so gave it a go: DISAPPOINTED! Food fairly tasteless and soggy, pasta a bit overcooked, atmosphere so-so. Perhaps on Sunday night, the restaurant was staffed with junior team, but the meal was lackluster and not worth a re-visit.

My family and I were heading through Scranton and were looking for Italian. We came across this restaurant and the food was amazing, the portions were large. The garlicky Zeppole (garlic dough) was to die for. We will definitely eat at this place again while traveling.Jason F.. thank you so much for stopping by on your way through Scranton. The Trip Advisor community has always been very kind to us, which encourages folks like you to stop by. I am happy you enjoyed the food. The garlic zeppole is by far the number 1 appetizer on the menu, I'm glad you liked it. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Darryl
