pizza is honest, but nothing special at this sprawling place on the mountain, but look at the stuff everywhere! old motorbikes, typewriters, film cameras. The owner clearly had a fetish for anything mechanical : and Miss Italy's, all of them. I think he has a bike museum hidden there somewhere too. Kids can play free foosball. At the time we went was rather under staffed.

Air conditioned and with summer veranda Possibility of having Pizzas gluten free and dough integral
Just entered, the smell of pizza was so good that we had an inkling that it would be a great dinner. And so it was. We had a short wait on Saturday. Pizza and 'focaccia' were amazing. I never taste anything like that!! Absolutely recommended!

We discovered this little neighbourhood restaurant on the recommendation of the lady who had just sold us her little Italian home home nearby-:"we've gone to the Ristorante Dei Pini for 20 years-our favourite restaurant in the area". So we decided to try it out.The restaurant is set on beautiful spacious grounds-it seemed a place you might come for a wedding reception or other special occasion. We were ushered in by the young Italian waitress, with a choice of seating between "the pizzeria and the ristorante".We chose the ristorante, but soon after realized that the pizzeria was just the other side of the room about 2 metres away, and the main distinction seemed to be the table cloth that we had that the pizzeria tables lacked. Rather charming we thought. The decore was somewhat plain but bright and inviting enough. Our young waitress was very pleasant and gamely tried to give us some explanations of the unilingual Italian menu, but alas her English was as good as our Italian-in other words, pretty sketchy. Out came the chef/owner, whose English was no better but we both summoned our respective high school French knowledge and all had a great time trying to bridge the cultural gap. All just an added bonus to the experience from our point of view. The food was very good and quite plentiful.. My wife decided to skip the pasta course but the fettecinni that I ordered (with mushooms and obviously some sort of alcohol because the dish was delivered to us flaming, in tin foil made up into the shape of a duck) was easily enough for two. Very nice. For the main, I had a delicious piece of marinated roast chicken that was very nicely spiced and cooked and my wife had duck breast which was outstanding-quite possibly the best she had ever had. With a bottle of local wine, sparkling water and a glass of grappa each we were very satisfied by the end of the meal and the bill (maybe 40 euro as I recall) was quite reasonable. My wife was quite taken by the glasses our grappa was served in and asked to buy a pair. The chef gave us two "on the house". A great gesture, and one that will definitely get us back to the restaurant the next time we come. This isn't a restaurant that you will drop into accidentally-although it's not that far off the E80 motorway about 30 minutes from Sarzana, it's tucked into a residential area heading into the hills and you have to look for it. But we'd suggest that you make the effort to find this charming friendly establishment.

I went to Pinseria Gabarda for a business lunch recently. The restaurant is located on the main road of Sarzana and has a quirky modern design.I really liked the attentive service. Our appetizers consisted of cured meats (Italian style) and they were excellent. Some of us had pasta and others pizza. They had a nice selection of wines. The pizza is oblong in shape. Our table was right beside the pizza oven, so we got to see the cook preparing the pizzas.I suppose In this price range it is expected to use tinned mushrooms and artichokes......so the pizza did not blow me away, but it was tasty.oddity....to reach the toilettes, there is a dedicated elevator going up one floor and with a panoramic view of...... Once you reach the toilette floor, there is no emergency exit or any other way to exit if the elevator breaks down......but I did see a locked door marked "private" leading to (I assume) the owners lodgings.Interesting quirky restaurant worth a try..

We happened upon this wonderful local place in Ortonova...all you want - great house wine, excellent pizza and selection of pizzas and more that I wish we could have tried....I had a pizza with mushrooms and truffle cream, excellent...and nice service. On top of that, the next day I realized I had left my wallet with all my cards, driver's license, money ... and went back to look for it and they saw me come in and came running with it - untouched, of course. Highly recommend the restaurant - and it's people!

Aqua, which is not an error but derives from the Latin; it is the main element that best represents our restaurant. There are three words that unite the meaning of AQUA: Freshness, transparency and flexibility. Freshness, like the freshness of the water f
A presto!

We had pizza probably 8-10 times on our recent trip to Italy, and this might have been the best-top three for sure. The first kudos are for serving us in the first place-we arrived at our pension at 9:30 pm and were looking for any place to eat at 10:00 pm on a Monday night. Pizzeria al Bacio was still open, and on seeing our hopeful faces they were happy to serve us at that time even though it was clear that they were winding down for the evening. It's not a fancy place-decor is spartan, but we each enjoyed our pizza (mine was pepperoni and olives, my wife's was rucola) and a half litre of house wine, and the bill at about 15 euro was a bargain by Canadian standards. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and looking for pizza.

After much hype, we dined at VOCO restaurant in Fosdinovo. The portions were ridiculously small. The calamari appetizer had 3 small pieces of calamari in it and many fried vegtables. It was wzrm, at best, and a bit soggy from oil not hot enough. The main courses, a risotto dish and a VERY small pizza, very ordinary. The risotto was watery and the pizza had almost no cheeseThe atmosphere is lovely and the restaurant is very well decorated. We would not return here.
