Variety of dishes all of which are not good value for money. the beer is the most expensive in the town

Good pizza served in a "sandwich" way.You can choose singolo or doppio and you get the pizza fast and it is really good.

We stop here for a quick lunch while in calasetta. As seems the norm they were not doing pizzas at lunch time. We had a starter and pasta as the main course. The food was good. The interior is interesting and position is great, being right on the harbour.

IL veliero - I believe this translates to Sailer/sailor(?) In English. Well it has a great captain at the helm. I understand it has recently changed ownership and it has been very nicely decorated. A bright, very clean restaurant/pizzeria situated on the lovely harbour front in Calasetta - on the island of Sant' Antioco, Sardegna. Great views as you enjoy a variety of pizzas and freshly cooked Italian food. No frozen stuff here! Generous portions, nicely presented and at a price that will suit any pocket. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, creating a great atmosphere and dining experience. Relatively new it may be, but already a success from my point of view. I have just spent 11 days there on holiday and dined there on numerous occasions - and this is not yet in season - when it is, dining will be available both inside and out - or just drop in for morning coffee, lunchtime snacks, refreshing drinks - they do it all. Highly recommended.

We only had Apero; spritzes and their meat and cheese platter and they were so plentiful we could not eat anything else. Absolutely lovely...Great view when eating outside.

Everyone knows that tourism season in Southern Sardinia is short, but this is not a good reason to overcharge families at restaurants. We had just arrived in Calasetta and while waiting for our room to be set, we ended up to have lunch at L'Approdo. We were shown a table with a dramatic sea view and were able to order, then we waited.20 minutes later the waiter shown up with our appetizer, bottarga (dried and pressed tuna eggs) strips on a plate of "pane carasau" (local crisp bread in thin slices) flavoured with cherry tomatoes, butter and sweet chili. The dish was good and well presented, yet if anyone is not accustomed to the bitter, salted and sharp taste of this local delight I advice against it.Then we had another 20 minutes wait until served a plain fregola dish (pasta whose form and texture is similar to the cous cous) for our toddlers and a seafood pasta we shared. About it, mussels and clams were ok, while shrimps were stiff and tasteless. Then we had a pan fried swordfish cut for the babies and a barbecue red tuna cut for us. The swordfish was really good, but nothing compared to the tuna which was almost perfect.Although the slow service caused some hassle to contain our toddlers, we were able to relax and to enjoy the food. That cannot be said of the unreasonably high prices: 1 full meal plus 1 main course dish, water and 1/4 of white wine proved to cost 75,00 euro.

not a great choice. we booked for 2 and when we arrived there were only a couple of tables occupied.we ordered 2 special pizzas but the waiter told us that they can make only one. ok then.....he came back after a while and told us that pizzas were not available.ok....then we had 2 normal pizzas and they weren't good at all, even because they don't have a real italian wooden oven.we asked for a red wine in a galss and it came frozen.....terrible.appetizers were ok but too expenisve. To be honest we did not understand what You mean with âpizzeria without pizzaâ.In our menu there are 18 pizzas. Only 7 of these in the "traditional" section. All the others are special. We then have 4 pizzas that are made with a leavened dough that is similar to a focaccia. So let's imagine that you refer to the latter, which is the only one that could end up as it needs to be processed in great advance and it is not possible to know before when we will use it.Since in the menu the weight of these pizzas is really small (4 out of 24 total), the title "pizzeria without pizza" is just out of place. Even because the pizzas, including all the specials, were in abundance. As for the fact that we do not have an Italian wood-fired oven, I inform you that in our sector the "clichè" that pizzas are only good in a wood oven is past. We have an electric oven among the best and most expensive on the market and I assure you that it is difficult to find an oven that can return a better cooking.Making a wood oven would certainly cost us less, but we chose quality. We have long studied our dough accompanied in this by one of the best pizza chefs in Italy. We are very sorry that You did not like the pizza.Definitely not the usual pizza ....We would have liked to know it in the restaurant anyway. Maybe we could have had something to do with you, even with regards to explaining how our oven works and how we obtained our dough. But these days, just like the wood-burning oven, Trip is so fashionable!

The food was so fresh and such a joy. The serving was fantastic with a lot of attention and care. The place was full on an ordinary weekday. So enjoyable and we can only recommend.Prices are very good for the fresh food in good quantities.
