Had a great lunch here today with my wife and it was not the first time. This is a meat house with one menu which serves for both lunch and dinner. The food is prepared well and they employ a very attentive staff. The salads are excellent so a vegetarian could survive here too. The views from the balcony are good, ranging from the main plaza to distant Razuhuillca, the tallest mountain in the region.

We are not a culture, not a race, we are all the cultures of the world, all the fluctuating blood of the world. All the worlds that collide, all the earth that is united, all the causes of the confluent rivers, we are all the times in a single second. Mes
Good restaurant inside a historic mansion courtyard on the main plaza. Good lunch set menu, very reasonable, and the best coffee in town. Haven't tried the dinner menu on this trip but was very satisfied eating here several times on my last visit to Ayacucho in 2013.

I asked the tourist office for good local food. They recommended this place which is in one of the barrios of Ayacucho about 15 minute walk from the center. The neighborhood you walk though is very run down and maybe not safe at night. When I arrived, there was a band blasting music for a small party. The waitress and I were grimacing to understand each other. She never even brought me a menu. She only asked what drink I wanted. A few minutes later, she brought me a plate with cuy (guinea pig). It was my first time trying guinea pig and probably my last. It taste like chicken. The problem is there is no meat on the little suckers. A person could starve to death. The rest of the plate was potato and some other goop which I couldn't figure out. Meal cost NS 53

We ordered our drinks and food at the same time. The limonade arrived within a few minutes. About 10 minutes later the waiter came back to say that they didn't have any alpaca...because it was Wednesday. So we each ordered trout prepared different ways. Another 10 minutes passed and the waiter returned to tell us that they only had one trout. We decided not to stay but wanted to pay for the limonade. He never came with the check so we left the 8 soles on the table and told someone on our way out the door. They were out of these food items at 12:30 in the afternoon! By the way...this restaurant was recommended both in TripAdvisor and by a tour operator.

Pretty sure we ordered the half grill and were given double the amount for the same price - typical Peruvian generosity. The meat is excellent and the wine was good. Incredibly good value - highly recommended.

QuinuaQ is a place for Peruvian and international tourists to escape from the stress and busy city into a beautiful natural, relaxing place in the Andes with affordable luxury and while staying here giving something back to society. QuinuaQ Restaurant wil
For sure the restaurant with the best view in this area. The staff is friendly and works hard. They are all doing their internship there so still learning but doing a great job. I like the idea of helping them learning while having some fantastic cocktails and delicious food. Already went here a few times and there is more to come while I work and live in Ayacucho!

Sukre and Via Via are the two main restaurants with balcony seating overlooking the plaza. They are both just fine, and I would not favor one over the other. Sukre has a very typical highland Peruvian menu with lots of meat, rice, noodles. Staff was friendly and attentive. We would go back.

Ayacucho is nice. Kinda relaxed version of Cuzco and this restaurant overlooking the main square is nice... specially balcony at night time.I randomly went up to see how was the place and saw two dirrefent drinks coverd with a plate... Waiters are nice and super kind. He actually let me take picture of the drink even though I was still not sure if staying, lol... coz it was full with locals... but when I see the view from balcony, I decided to wait. and to wait for a balcony seat.Food is nice. I won't say it's super delicious, but with the amazing view, not bad at all. You can also try some regional cuisine and also international dishes. I tried one of the house specials... Belgium beef stew, not bad... but I would prefer rice or bread to eat that stew instead of the salad as a side. The best thing form here was the fruit herb tea. They have two mix. Andean mix and tropical fruit mix. both with fresh herb and honey on the bottom so you can mix as you wish.Nice live music on Saturday night (I am not sure if it's every Saturday though), view of main plaza and walking distance from the hotel I stayed... yeap. I would love to visit this place again.

Enjoy the best of the Peruvian and International kitchen. Try our great alpaca meat, quinoa dishes, fresh salads with trout! Endugle yourself with delicious cocktails, fresh juices, belgian beers and homemade ice creams on our balcony with stunning views
Although it looks elegant and expensive, it's a great and unexpensive option to taste original creations with local products. The dishes with quinua are delicious and so nicely served, it's like eating in a gourmet restaurant but with a good portion and nice price. I particularly recommend sopa serrana and quinua aeropuerto, the best dishes in the menu. Teas and desserts are also delicious.
