We have been doing activities with Hands On Art for a few years now. We have two daughters and have always been warmly welcomed by Janet and have great fun. We started with the pottery wheel class, and are now regular visitors - we love painting pots, cookie jars, and cups. We are delighted that Janet has been running a click and collect service, which has been a wonderful way to have fun over the lockdown period. We have ordered some baubles for us to have some activities over the Christmas break. Once painted we drop them back to Janet, and then of course the excitement of collection post-firing. Highly recommended for a few hours in the studio (as far as 2020 allows) or as many hours as you want to take - through click and collect. Thanks Janet!! Ken, Sarah, Amy and Lucy

Oakdale Bees is set in 4 acres of wild meadow fields which border Royal Windsor forest. The Apiary was founded in 2015. Elisabeth has fulfilled a lifelong passion to care and work with bees. In the company’s early days, the house was filled with the sweet smell of warm beeswax, but the growing operation recently moved to a dedicated site in our wild meadow fields.

We love it here. It’s a lovely family friendly place with lovely staff and a great atmosphere. They have parties for kids, painting and Prosecco evenings for the grown ups and even if you don’t want to paint you can just have coffee and cake! One of the best places to be in Tilehurst. Loved it when it opened and hope it stays forever as it’s fin for all ages. Pottery can be quite expensive but the range is so vast there is something for everyone.

Welcome to the Mad Hatters Pottery Painting Cafe. We believe we are the first pottery painting cafe chain in Berkshire, offering a separate cafe area from the pottery studio. Come along and enjoy a pottery painting session or just pop in for a coffee and a catch up with friends. We are situated on Yorktown Road with off street parking. The variety of things to paint is perfect, not too little and not too many that you can’t decide. The prices are competitive and the annual family membership card has paid for itself !! The staff are fabulous and are welcoming and always happy to help or offer advice. You never feel rushed into finishing within an hour, which is lovely as Rome wasn’t painted in a day ???????? My children love the ‘foam clay’ as an alternative to painting, as it means they can take their creations home immediately. I totally love this place, although struggling to find places for my children’s creations as a result of numerous visits. They also have professionally painted items dotted around to give you inspiration and run classes in the evening or hold adult-only painting sessions.
