This was hands down the best stop on the River Road Scenic anyway. It is 300 steps to get down (and back up) but there are platforms and benches along the way to stop and rest. When you get down to the bottom, there is a long network of boardwalks and lookout points along the River. We had thought that the springs was just 1 spring (the water falling over the logs that is in so many pictures). It’s actually a huge network of springs. It is so peaceful, I could have spent longer there just listening to the springs and enjoying the sounds of nature. I can see why the Native Americans viewed it as a spiritual place because I felt it!

My husband and I spent 3 days in Oscoda, Mi and took a half day to drive the River Road Scenic Byway. We didn't know what to expect at the height of the summer, but the drive and the many stops along the way were terrific. All of the turnoffs are clearly marked along this 23-mile byway, all were very clean, including the restrooms', and all offered wonderful views of the Au Sable River. If you like to walk in the woods, ride a bike, or gaze at the water, this is the place for you. Many of the turnoffs have picnic tables, which make River Road Scenic Byway a great place for a picnic! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this drive to family and friends. And we look forward to returning later this year for the fall colors.

Oscoda Michigan had one of the most beautiful beaches in the State. It has miles of soft Sandy beaches and fresh clean water to swim in. The sunrises are amazing. It's also very affordable.

Designed in a classic parkland style, this 18-hole resort course offers minimal hazards, wide fairways and large greens, which add up to a very playable course.

This course is part of a highly-rated resort complex.
The Gailes is a links course and reminds me of some of the courses in Scotland. Pot bunkers - sod bunkers and lots of burns. Be sure to check the wind on your approach shots or you could be in a head high bunker. A few double greens and other huge greens. A 3 putt would not be unusual. Would recommend this course for anyone.
