I’m not a huge fan of snakes and such BUT... when my kids make me go to these places it’s not that bad. It’s really cool to see all of the different species. This place was fun for all ages.

Wolfdancer Golf Club

Reviewed By hamptondrh - El Paso, United States

Played the course in late October - beautiful layout and for me, the weekend golfer, it was very challenging. Sand traps dotting the fairway, blind shots, long par threes...and hilly to boot! Fairways were lush and the greens in very good shape. I spent two days hitting balls on the range - a perfect way to warm up and prepare for my round. Pro shop personnel (Julia) were awesome and the starters were as well. A wonderful experience on a cool fall afternoon.

Rising Phoenix Adventures

Reviewed By seanhock

On November 6, 2020 I found myself at Rising Phoenix Adventures in Bastrop, Texas trying to get my bicycle repaired so that I could continue my cross-country bicycle journey. I found out that Rising Phoenix does NOT offer bicycle repairs, but more importantly I found out that the owner, Jamie has a HEART OF GOLD!!! Jamie is an extremely kind and generous person who stopped what she was doing and personally drove me all the way to Austin, Texas so that my bicycle could be repaired that same day. Jamie even waited for the repairs to be completed and drove me back to Bastrop, Texas so that I could promptly continue my epic journey. This generous act of kindness was all done without any charge/fee to me. Jamie did it all out of the goodness of her heart! If your adventure group is treated even half as good as Jamie treated myself (a non-customer), then you will be very happy with your experience with Rising Phoenix Adventures and owner, Jamie!!!

My favorite ranch in the area. Many miles of diverse trail. Able to get miles and challenge myself. I love the trees as they make you feel like your not in texas.

ColoVista Golf Club

This distinguished golf course winds through the surrounding residential community amid majestic vistas. Golfers will find rolling fairways and well-protected, undulating greens and breathtaking views of the Colorado River. Located 30 minutes east of Austin, it is worlds away but close at hand. Stay and play packages available, open 7 days/week, go online or call the Pro Shop for your tee time.

We stayed at the cottages with 16 of our closest friends, played 3 days of golf and were treated outstanding by Bobby, his wife Julie and the rest of the staff. Course is a bit rough in spots but the effort bringing it back is coming along nicely. Hole #15 is one of the most picturesque par 3’s anywhere.
