Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine is impressive and huge. Much more diversified and challenging than the 3 Valleys or Espace Killy. The Sarenne Glacier is totally underrated, it is one of the very few where you can actually spend the whole day above 3,000m without the need to ski down and queue to take a gondola back up: there are 2 chairlifts that give you access to very challenging pistes (groomed and not groomed, your choice!). The view rom Pic Blanc is out of this world

We came to Alpe d'Huez for our first ski holiday. Our group was initially split into French speakers with Fred and English speakers with Julien. After a day of skiing they then split the group by ability to tailor the learning experience, which was great. It meant the less confident skiers could progress at a different rate to those who were more competent/confident. We started out with Julien who was excellent. Very upbeat and patient and we felt very safe. As the week progressed he felt we ought to move into the more experienced group with Fred as we were progressing more quickly. The instructors clearly look at each individual so as to be able to tailor the classes. This means you're never left feeling either out of your depth or bored in a too simple class. They were very flexible. Fred was also fantastic, he kept looking for more interesting things for us to do so that each day was a new experience and built on what we had learned. I was initially quite a nervous skier but they really look after you. Their english was also excellent and we had such an amazing week with them both. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them.
