We were so excited to be able to take the 1.5 hour trail ride! We had two adults and three teens/tweens in our group. This was a wish come true for our 11 year old! Charles met us at the barn and helped us get ready for the ride. The horses were beautiful! Kurt was a great trail guide and answered many questions along the way. We were so happy to have found the Royal Horseshoe Farm. The kids are already asking about a return trip!

Be sure to go the distance because the view is amazing. You will hike to a summit which has an awesome view but be sure to continue along the ridge to the actual buzzard rock location. Look for the path the continues upward (almost doubling back but climbing the ridge). Bring water. Oh, and yes, good luck with the parking.

The Best Public Virginia Golf ClubWith three nine-hole golf courses and the top-ranked Virginia golf school, Shenandoah Valley Golf Club has earned the designation of the best public Virginia golf club. One of the foremost media outlets in our sport has made the title official -- Golf Digest recently named the club one of the 10 best places for a round of Virginia golf.
Even after the severe weather the are has had this 27 hole course is in amazing condition. The greens have been topped and are filling in quickly and the putts are very true. The fairways have been manicured and the rough is a bit long but nothing you can’t get out of to salvage a good score. Kudos to the grounds and maintenance staff.

Tough disc golf course, nice playground, multiple picnic areas, permanent corn hole boards (looks to be bring your own bags though). Played the tough disc golf course. Narrow and hilly, lost 3 discs. But saw plenty of nature, deer, garter snake eating a toad, turtle, pileated wood pecker.

This is one heck of a course. We played in October and the course was in very good condition. It has some very interesting holes that will test your skills, expecially on the back 9. The staff is excellent and for the cost of a round of golf, this place can not be beat.
