Critchlow Alligator Sanctuary is a reptile rescue facility that is open to the public. We are home to hundreds of reptiles who have come to us through adoption, donation, rescue, or from other institutions. We have worked with local and state authorities with animal control needs and we also work with schools and universities with educational programs and internships. No animals are bought, sold, or traded at the Alligator Sanctuary. We provide a comfortable home and care for these animals for the rest of their lives.
This was such a fun place to visit. We have been doing a lot of things outside during Covid and this was perfect. There were several staff members out mingling with visitors and they obviously love their jobs and the animals. It was fantastic seeing the alligator up close. The alligator show was really good. Who knew that alligators can do tricks and learn their names. Perfect for a half-day outing. Also, our daughter has a medical stroller and could see most of the animals easily.

This was a great visit. We took our grandkids ages 11 and 9, along with 5of their friends. Plenty to see. Plenty to do. Feed animals, ride a train, ride over to Africa exhibit on a tram. The Africa exhibit is large with free roaming animals. Feeding the giraffe of course was special. Price is in line with other attractions of this kind. We spent about 4 hours total, with lunch. Zoo is very clean and not so large that you can't work your way around.

At the Medalist, you'll find a championship links-style 4 1/2 star course that has been exquisitely etched out of a landscape of almost 300 acres of rolling wooded land and wetlands. You're in South Central Michigan, but the terrain will carry you away in your mind to the state's northwoods. The Medalist has hosted many prestigious statewide events including the 2001 Women's State Championship, the 2010 Michigan State Junior Golf Championship, and the 2011 Michigan Junior State Amateur Championship. We have also hosted numerous USGA qualifiers including most recently United State Amateur Public Links qualifiers in 2009, 2010, and 2011. A day on our fairways is like a trip into the wilderness to play the game you love. Wild turkeys, deer, fox, sandhill cranes and even a rare white robin make their home here. There's even a bird sanctuary right down the street. In the midst of this scenic location, you'll be taking on a championship course created by Michigan's own Bill Newcomb. His handiwork is a must-play for the serious golfer who will find intriguing doglegs, split fairways, and wetlands, and ponds to carry. But this is a course for all generations and all the family to enjoy. With five sets of tees available on each hole, players of every level can enjoy Newcomb's handiwork. After you've experienced our winning style at The Medalist, golfing here will become your passion. And keep in mind, that The Medalist is an excellent location for your next golfing event.
Played here yesterday, course was in outstanding shape. Fun up north feeling layout. Challenging fun layout. Very reasonable green fees. I would normally not mention golf carts in a review of a course but their carts are so nice. Ipad like tablet with great gps, no bev cart or turn but you can order drinks and food on the tablet gps and they will deliver to you, and they deliver quick! Unique and cool.
