Beautiful views at top. Great value and great fun for all ages. Go at your own pace option. Lasts a while and plenty of speed twists and turns. Arrive early as it is not a quick loading speed. Would return

I was amazed by this beautiful fresh water lake on my hike to Klosters, Andechs. This is a great place to hike, go bicycling or just relax by the water front.

Die Fraueninsel is a small island and it only takes approximately 20 minutes to circumnavigate with no stops. In contrast to the other islands in the Chiemsee, this island is densely populated with more than 50 houses and their inhabitants. The most unique feature on the island is the famous Benedictine monastery Frauenwörth housing Benedictine nuns and right next to a 1,200-year-old cathedral. The monastery Frauenwörth is the oldest nunnery in Germany. The first known abbess was the Blessed Irmengard (died 866) she was buried in the cathedral. Her burial site is still a place of pilgrimage today and the area remains a popular wedding destination. Also, do not miss the small monastery cemetery where some famous artists and other personages are buried.

My family and I always travel to Reit im Winkl to ski. The ski area is great, offering various levels of difficulty - there are always pistes available for whether you're a beginner or a "powder-junkie"! It is very handy to have the Winklmoos-Alm area connecting to Steinplatte area. In my personal opinion, the Winklmoos-Alm area is more suitable for beginners, while the Steinplatte area offers more challenging pistes. The Steinplatte course of the mountain is quite scenic and the slopes spread widely across the mountain, so it is not often that you 'bounce' into a stranger. The Reit im Winkl village, itself, is wonderful. It is welcoming and full of warmth - allowing you to enrich yourself in the full German experience. Almost everything is traditional, including the architecture of the chalets and the restaurants (do yourself a favour and indulge yourself in a plate of Schnitzel). The locals are very friendly and will always be happy to help! The location of Reit im Winkl is perfect. You are almost always guaranteed snow, during the winter, and it is relatively close to the big-city of Munich. You must visit Reit im Winkl! Be it for the snow sports, scenery or the atmosphere!
