I love Japanese Onsen and wanted for my boys (age 7-10) to try. It was part of the day trip after we visited Mount Fuji 5th station in the morning. We had a sukiyaki lunch, with bowls of rice delivered by a miniature steam locomotive. After the lunch, we explored the onsen for about an hour. There was allocated locker for me to put my belongings, and I was offered a big plus a small towel. The onsen consisted of two floors; first floor was the public bath and indoor and outdoor onsen while lower floor - cave, aromatherapy, steam room and natural outdoor. After my bath, I had time to explore both floors. I loved the outdoor onsen facing Mt Fuji. You don't get this view if you book the private room. My kids enjoyed too with their dad, despite their dad joked that he didn't have much zen time.

It was my second time here. It was awkward every time we stripping ourselves in front of so many people. But because no one care and no one staring, so we felt awkward if we don't do like the locals do. The onsen itself is a big space area, with 4 major pools. The outdoor pools gave you another unforgettable experience you won't missed!
