The Nakanokura Toge Mountain Pass Observatory is located on the northern shore of Lake Motosuko, and in good weather visitors can view the picturesque scene of Mount Fuji reflected on the surface of the lake. In fact, the 1,000 yen bill was designed based on this scene, a picture taken by renowned photographer Koyo Okada entitled "Lake Side in Spring". From the parking lot, it is about a 30-minute walk up the mountain trail to the observation deck. Access: About 25km from Kawaguchiko InterChange on the Chuo Expressway. Parking for 20 cars (free)
