Beautiful hike that’s not to be missed! Definitely moderate- the hike is quite steep and at an incline the whole way up. That said, it’s paved! Accordingly, it’s really not too tough. The map says this path is 45 min to the top; as a couple of 20-ish year olds moving at a good clip, we summited in 25 minutes. Great views and good tropical rainforest environment throughout the hike. The summit tower provides breathtaking views of three coastlines, plus the rainforest mountain ridges. It’s a great value for the effort. Some quick bullets/logistics: - We arrived at 1:55pm in March 2020 and completed the trail at 2:18pm. - There are no bathrooms or trash cans along the route. There are a couple of covered benches here and there. - Parking is somewhat limited - much of it roadside. - No wildlife but great rainforest foliage. - The cobblestone paving is single file. Be prepared to make way for other hikers. - We were able to hike the whole way in flip flops and birkenstocks- but I imagine tennis would be more comfortable.

A tower in El Yunque offering a sweeping view of the rainforest.
The parking lot was right there and you didnt have to walk very far to the entrance. There was no charge to walk up and see the ocean from the top of the tower, there is rain forest between you and the ocean. Plus there was a small gift shop at the base of the tower, on the inside. Dont forget your camera, the view was pretty remarkable

The tower is easy to locate and reach since it is located right on Route 115. The Mirador provides a spacious parking place and it has a solid structure. Built on concrete, it is about three stories high and it provides a nice view of the ocean and the Mona Passage.

Cruceta del Vigia is a 100 feet tall cross located atop Vigia Hill in Ponce, across from Museo Castillo Serralles. It houses a tourist center at its base, a ten-story vertical tower, and a horizontal sky bridge that has panoramic views of the city and the Caribbean Sea. Visitors can reach the skybridge via glass elevators or a staircase. Made of reinforced concrete, the cross has withstood various natural disasters. The arms of the cross measure 70 feet. It was inaugurated in 1984. Owned by the Town of Ponce and is currently operated by the "Patronato de Ponce", a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and administrating several of the city's landmarks.
The view from this area is magnificently breath taking, there's also a small beautiful Japanese garden to explore as well as a castle.

Glimpse an incredible panorama from atop this stone tower.
IT IS A GREAT PLACE TO ADMIRE AND HAVE FUN f you are driving along the Ruta Panorámica in the Maricao area, and you may want to check out some amazing 360° views. You can stop at La Torre de Piedra. Though the tower itself isn’t that tall, it sits on top of a mountain so the views are great. This old stone tower, built in late 1930s, is about 30 feet tall. It is located in the middle of the Bosque Estatal de Maricao. Today, it is maintained by the Compañia de Parques Nationales. Of course, the day that we went, it was cloudy and overcast, so we didn’t get the full view. But it still was cool and breezy, and we could tell that, on a clear day, the view must be amazing. It is said that you can see to the west coast and all the way to Mona Island, the south coast, and far inland to the north and east. Of course, being on top of mountains, some of the view is of radio and satellite antennas but there are many lovely views too I wouldn’t make a special trip just for this tower, but if you are in the area, it could make a nice stop. It is located along the Ruta Panorámica, so expect slow, but pretty, going. While you’re in Maricao, you can also visit a number of coffee plantations/haciendas, some hiking/birdwatching trails in the Maricao forest, the Salto Curet waterfall, a fish farm, and the Festival of Coffee held every year in February.
Puerto Rico, Cerro Dona Juana. Because of it being the tallest Cerro in Orocovis, the Cuerpo Civil de Conservacion built during 1943 a tower in the top of the mountain. The actual reason for building the tower is still unknown. There are three different theories, some say the tower was built for military purposes. Others, that it was created so the forest keepers could look out for fires. Lastly, it is said that it was just to have a lookout at the top of Orocovis. No matter the reason, this tower is definitely a must see in Orocovis. You won't only be able to see Orocovis, you will be able to see the North and South of Puerto Rico, including cruise ships on the northeast bay area.Fresh air and a fresh view are what expects you at the top of Orocovis!
