A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. The food is traditional, and very good and prices are very reasonable. The customers were mainly locals (which is usually a very good indication for the quality of food). Our waitress was very nice, and her English was good - which really added to our overall eperiance. the overall atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting, and we would definitly come back.If you get the chance - seat outside, they have a beautiful garden.

This restaurant is closed for renovation. No information on their website, you can still book tables online via Tripadvisor, TheFork etc. so it was a real disappointment when we made an online reservation, received a confirmation and stood in front of closed doors.

This is the place to go when you want to know what is a real Trattoria Modenese. The food is fresh, simple, fantastic and all dishes are made from seasonal products.Tagliatelle al ragu, tortellini alla panna, tortelloni de zucca: home made and hand made pasta are so tasty that you will remember the taste of it! Every time I stay in this area, I go to La Rana. This restaurant is full of locals and it's worth having lunch there. When you drive there, there is a good chance you miss the restaurant because there is no sign (which is a good sign for food). Cars and trucks are parked next to the restaurant.

I will be very brief. Perfect place to eat hand made pasta in a rustic, genuine restaurant. You can choose not only 7 different types of cappelletti but also spaghetti, cappellacci and so on.Honestly I prefer a bigger size of cappelletti but also these one are fantastic.I also got guinea fowl with balsamic vinegar, so delicious!!Bill: 5types of cappelletti+guinea fowl+vegetables+wine+water+3sorbettos+2coffee = 22 euros each!!Suggestion: book in advance.

Restaurant is inside an old cheese(PARMIGIANO REGGIANO)factory born in '800 in Emilia countryside.Ristorante Badessa propose "Reggiana typical cuisin" and in specific plates coocked with Traditional Balsamic vinegar of Reggio Emilia, Hand-made Pasta like
The ambience is great since it is basically an old cheese factory beautifully restored and appointed. The name instead, comes from the vernacular one given to the first barrel used in the production of balsamic vinegar. The menu boasts local dishes with a modern twist and the food is all handmade The wine list is comprehensive too but there is no sale by the glass. The service was outstanding so all in all I will definitely keep this restaurant in mind for a romantic dinner or a business lunch Out of the menu, I had fried cod as appetizer and Guinea Fowl with roasted potatoes... Both literally mouthwatering

The fortress, built in 1200, manifests its mysterious charm through its severe aspect and imposing solidity. Kings, princes, soldiers, architects and military engineers visited: here lived Emperor Carlo V, Francesco I the King of France, Lucrezia Borgia d
It is not close to popular tourist destinations, but this an excellent little restaurant, specialized in local (Emilia ROmagna cuisine) pasta dishes, beef dishes (they buy the best Italian beef, making it arrive from various Italian Regions, renowned for traditional breeds: Piedmont, Marche, ROmagna, etc.). Sweets and desserts are also very good; my friends who drink wine tell me that also the wine list is particular and worth the visit, but I don't drink (wine gives me headache) so I could't say anything based on direct experience. Also the dining rooms are very beautiful: the restaurant is located inside a very old tower that was a change horse station along the Via Emilia (the old Roman road). In summer it is possible to dine alfresco on the large terrace.

I gave a try to this place once more after a couple of years.Great location and very nice premises indeed - perfect for a business dinner.Service = average quality.Food = OK (honestly I would expect something better in the food valley of Emilia Romagna...).Pricing = well - for what they offer right now from my point of view completely OVERPRICED. I suggest this place for a date or for a business lunch / dinner - to impress the guests (especially foreigners...).If you are a local fellow and you wonna have a great lunch / dinner, I suggest to skip it!living with the 'old fat' indeed still here!

Service is amazing and friendly but not invasive. Food offer is quite wide and all I have tried was great. A supring fusion of modern and traditional homemade cooking of Emilia territories. Great for event friend or romantic dinner. I wouldn't miss at all if I'll be around again there.

Nero Balsamico is a new restaurant in Modena Our intent is to offer a food closely related to the territory and to its culinary excellence, rediscovering its genuineness and enhancing the peculiarities. Everything in a peaceful and elegant location, ideal
The restaurant was adjacent to our hotel so it made for easy dining after a long day of traveling. We had high hopes for our meal when a starter consisting of chunk of parmesan cheese drizzled with balsamic vinegar arrived. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our meal. Food was under seasoned and simply bland. By far the most disappointing meal of our trip.Dear Customer ,Thank you for being our guest and for sharing your opinion. We really regret that the dinner was not up to expectations , we strive every day to offer our guests the best.Trusting in future occasions to be able to fully appreciate our cuisine we offer you greetingsLo Staff
