We stayed 3 nights at Podere Diamante in September. We found a treasure in the hills of Castelvetro in Modena. The hosts, Agnese and Leone, are attentive to the needs of the guests and provide outstanding service and food. Where else could you sample, upon arrival, sparkling wine with parmesan cheese drizzled with 25 year old basamic. Agnese provided excellent dinners. She provided a tour of the property filled with fruit trees and grape vines. Leone led a tour of the nearby parmesan cheese factory and his own cellar of balsamic. He even offered to drive us into Modena for the day with detailed instruction about how to return on our own. We could have asked for a better experience.

Tucked away on a side street in Modena, not far from the main piazza, Trattoria Tagliatella is a terrific find. A few tables outside and a few more inside, it lives up to what a trattoria really should be. We literally stumbled on the restaurant and gave it a try. We were rewarded with relaxed, professional service, terrific food, good wine and all around nice experience. The risottos are terrific and authentic, delicate and flavorful. The triangoli ripieni were sublime -- I'm not a big pasta fan, but, these triangoli were sublime, made with the finest, thinnest home-made pasta sheets and stuffed with fresh ricotta and porcini mushrooms, all just gently bathed in a delicious sauce. The lady we presumed to be the owner checked in with us periodically, seeing if we needed anything and just leaving us to ourselves to enjoy the meal and the moment. Great job.

We came here for dinner on a hot night in June. We were full before we started since we'd been eating nonstop for almost 2 weeks of travel through Italy. We ordered a light salad to start, and then we each ordered a green lasagna. WOW! It was so good, that we ordered a third piece to share. Go here for the lasagna! The other pastas we saw at tables around us also looked amazing, but give me that lasagna any day!

A delicious lunch. Get there early, it quickly fills up with people. Everything was excellent, especially the lasagne. Highly recommend for trying foods typical of the region. 3 primo dishes, 2 secondo dishes, half liter of wine, sparking water, 3 coffees for 60 Euro.

My husband and I had dinner at La Quercia at the suggestion of our B&B. From the time we arrived the experience was enchanting. Our personable and welcoming waitress brought us the basket of bread and the fried gnocchi. From there she served us the scrumptious parmigiano reggiano drizzled with 30 year old balsamic vinegar. Our salivary glands were in high gear. Then our primo arrived! My husband had the maccheroni with fresh porcini and ragù while I delighted in the Tortelli of zucca with a sausage sauce. All the flavors were perfectly balanced. Taken by the parmigiano container, we could not help but ask about it. Well it was for purchase. So we left with a lovely memory of the evening. But that is not all. Upon exiting we were saluted by white geese and not only. Next to our vehicle was a Maserati and only a few steps away we saw a Pagani. Yes, we had dinner at the perfect location.

We loved this Trattoria, very local and a bit ârusticâ, what makes the flair of this place. The wine selection is a bit limited (Lambrusco or normal) but this didnât bother us at all. Food amazing with big portions. Nice the free digestives at the end.

Typical Emiliana cuisine in a lunch-only, four tables total, wonderfully executed gem. The gnoccho fritto are so light and puffy, amazing! The pasta is a perfect example of great execution and âdressed, not drownedâ.The only slight miss from my perspective was panna cotta that was, to me, too firm (though with wonderful flavor).

We absolutely loved this restaurant, we suggest making a reso straight away, don't hesitate. We did two different tasting menus with wine pairings. This allowed us to try the different flavors. The price was very good considering the quality of both food and wine and they were very generous with the wine. If only we lived closer, we would definitely go often. TripAdvisor is bang on with the reviews, go before the waiting lists become too long!
