I have recently visited and feel very safe and welcome. The safety precautions are the best I have seen with each table divided with make shift walls and each of the staff wearing face masks. The selected beer and spirits are exciting and new, perfect for a micro pub. Highly recommend as a local!!

Half Croatian Cafe-Bar
I'm from Canterbury and each time I visit Whitstable this is my absolute 'go-to' bar/ cafe. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, there is a great range of drinks including Croatian wines and beers alongside locally produced cider and a range of other options. It has a really lovely atmosphere, well worth a visit for drinks and nibbles with friends, as a couple or to sit and while away the hours with a book.

The oldest pub in Whitstable. A 15th Century listed building with a large car park and extensive, lawned beer garden. 2 bars serving quality real ales, lagers and spirits, and a separate restaurant area. BT Sports shown, also a pool table and dart boards inside, and Bat & Trap in the garden.

Stumbled by this pub when we were walking the dog, very nice place with tables outside, friendly staff despite our dog becoming bark every time they come to serve us... ordered a parna ham with wild rocket pizza, it was amazing, the pizza base was crisp and thin, very tasty... good value for money highly recommend, best pizza in Whitstable!

Located a stone's throw from the harbour and named after an old fishing boat, the Smack Inn captures all the spirit of the Whitstable seaside - even boasting a beach - inspired beer garden complete with colourful beach huts. It's a family-friendly pub promising a warm welcome to all who come aboard. Tucked away behind the high street, its the prefect place to escape the tourist crowds.
Discovered this little gem of a pub whilst out walking. We have walked past on previous trips to Whitstable but it always looked a little neglected so on this occasion we were bowled over by the transformation that we just had to pop in to satisfy our curiosity. It is now a very welcoming place with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was delicious and served with a smile. Also impressed with the COVID-19 safety practises and the forms for track and trace. We felt reassured and safe to be eating out at this pub. We sat in the garden which is lovely with a boat deck theme.

I had never visited this pub before but a pal of mine who knew it suggested we should meet there for a few ales. I'm so glad he did, it's a lovely little bar, lots of quirky curios on display, comfortable seats and great beers, chatting to the barman, I was told they always had sessions pale ale and a Wantsum brew, the sessions was excellent as was the Wantsum Black Pig. We'll definitely put the Black Dog on our list of pubs worth visiting.

Whitstables newest Micropub. Dog and child friendly with a constantly changing Real Ale menu as well as ciders and small but specifically chosen wine list. Pub snacks such as Scotch Eggs & pork pies & cheese always available. Named after the owners late cat Sam
Always a pleasant experience in The Handsome Sam, great beer, lovely beer stuff thank you Chris. A thoroughly enjoyable time in this pub.

My husband and I enjoyed Friday afternoon drinks here recently. We hadn't been in nearly 2 years as we don't get to the area much now, but were happy to confirm that it is still our favourite pub in Kent - if not the UK! We booked easily in advance via email. They have made sensible adjustments to ensure safety during lockdown easing- none of which take away from the relaxing atmosphere you want in a bar. We were able to view the wide slection of drinks on our phones (a paper menu was available also), but ordering was done in person- the landlady was always there just in time to take our order! I liked that there was still a personal touch. The selection of beers on tap was excellent as usual and as the designated driver I was pleased to enjoy their grown up soft drinks! We sat indoors, but the outdoors courtyard is really lovely too, and even though there had been some showers earlier the tables and benches were easily dried and many people less soft than us were happily enjoying their drinks outside!
