The 1888 Toujouse bar in the Tremont House hotel in Galveston is just want you want from a watering hole in a grand old hotel like the Tremont. Good bar snacks, great local brews on tap and a friendly barkeep who is knowledgeable about the best local places for food and entertainment. The Galveston Island Brewing Company wheat beer was delicious.

Stopped in here after watching Mardi Gras Parade on the Strand. It was cool out and we were looking for a good coffee place to stop in, warm up and get a good cup of coffee. It was around 9 pm, so most coffee shop were closed, but went by here and it was open. not crowded, only a few people at the bar and 1 at a table. Got a great cup of coffee, friendly services and they are open up till 2 am. Great place, nice seating, comfy couches and tables if you have work to do. Will go back and stay longer.

Before a recent cruise, my husband went here to buy cigars to take on our trip. The place is very nice with a cozy interior, comfortable leather chairs and a big manly bar. There is a private fenced deck on the back of the lounge that offers seating and shade. We were there during a nice day and most people were outside. They have a large humidor with a variety of premium cigars. It's a couple blocks from the port and a little hard to find but once you get there, take an hour to hang out.
