Read the reviews and thought we'd give a go. Didn't book but got a table as it was early. Told straight away that it was ours for 90 minutes. Not an issue for us. Covid check in and staff fully masked up, menu explained and our first cockails ordered. Sit back and watch the magician do his stuff. 2 Tonka bombs dispatched. Superb first round drinks. Wife chatted about her favorite tipple and they were more than pleased to invent a cocktail for her, she even named it ' The Cheeky' Brillant from start to finish. Would recommend to anyone. If you are going late in the evening booking is essential.

The Chip & Pin is a micropub which specialises in cask conditioned beers served by gravity, directly from the cask. We also sell real ciders, bottled gluten-free beers, Samuel Smith's fruit beers, Fentimens soft drinks, and a small selection of wines; snacks of pork pies and Scotch Eggs are also available. There is no bar, customers are served at their table by staff. Due to licensing restrictions, we operate a strict over 18s only policy, but well behaved dogs are welcome.
This is a nice pub to visit if you like real Ale, cider, wine and soft drinks. They do not serve lager. The drinks are served the way they should be out of the barrel by hand without the aid of gas. There is no bar in this pub, the staff will take your order and your drinks are brought to your table. The choice of drinks and their prices are on boards on the walls. The drinks are served in glasses with a measured line. You get a full measure, not beer with a lot of froth on the top. They also serve a selection of good pork pies and scotch eggs at a very good price. This pub is not open all day and has it’s own daily opening hours and closes at 9.30 pm. This is a nice friendly pub and well worth a visit.

The Last Post is certainly one of the smallest pubs I've ever been to (though not quite as tiny as the Pump It Up in Belper): You get about 10 people in there and it's packed! But the place oozes community atmosphere, and you'll get into talking with other patrons immediately. At least that was my own experience, and I'm a rather shy, reserved person. The selection of drinks is also excellent: a fair number of hand pumps, and, more importantly, they offer real ales from smaller breweries, and the not usual, jaded Doom Bar or Pedigree. Lovely, helpful barman, too. The range of single malt whiskies outshines that of many much larger establishments. And, even in a place for just ten people, The Last Post offers live music! Highly recommended real ale micro for Derby, even if it's a bit off the beaten track.

Along with the newly established The Belper Tap, The Angels Micropub is your best option by far in Belper for a pint of craft ale or cider. It is a hidden gem indeed, tugged into the far corner of Market Place - you have to be very close to the northern east corner to actually see it's there. It has a narrow patio area with a few outside tables, and the single room in the pub holds only about 30 people. The range of carefully selected real ales (directly from the cask) is excellent, as is the one for craft cider. And they're only 3 quid a pint, no matter how high the ABV is. I had three excellent pints there: two beers (Titanic Plum Porter, Plummeth Grand Cru) and a flavorful cask-matured cider (Thistly Cross Whisky Cask). The young woman who was running things on the day was extremely friendly and welcoming, herself an enthusiast for real ale and cider. The atmosphere is very friendly, and you can always strike up a conversation with a fellow punter. Note: The Angels is open only between Thursday and Sunday! Cannot recommend this super place enough: Keep up the good work!

Just been for our second lunch since lockdown and as always the food was fantastic, with great service from the lovely staff. By far our favourite place for a drink and with the added bonus of being dog friendly!

I have attended the comedy night twice now and each time it has been thoroughly enjoyable. The acts are great, venue provides a fantastic atmosphere, staff are welcoming and above all the night is great fun for friends and family to attend together. Will most certainly be coming back again

To say I've visited the Honey Pot Tea Rooms a few times would be a lie....hubby and I virtually live here. Having my own business in the same road doesn't help my waistband either, so you'll often find myself or my clients meandering up the road for a slice of cake and a coffee. But in all seriousness, what a gem in the Derbyshire countryside, Sonja and her lovely team are just superstars, nothing is ever a problem and they always give service with a smile. The standard and size of the breakfasts are amazing and so too are the stunning cakes!! (...omg the cakes) This as good as it gets for a quick bite to eat or just a cuppa with a (huge) slice of cake, you really can't find many places quite so close with such great and authentic service!
