Sydney offers plenty of historical and contemporary Australian flavor. The marvelous Sydney Opera House looks like a great origami sailboat, floating peacefully in a harbor. Wander the narrow cobblestone streets of The Rocks and then take in a street performance on the Circular Quay before heading into the Museum of Contemporary Art. The views from the Sydney Tower Eye observatory are epic – use this chance to get to know the layout of the city from high above.

The Belvedere Hotel is on Kent street in the centre of the Sydney CBD. The downstairs is an open pub area with large windows. The upstairs is a Greek restaurant. We had a few beers, not an extensive variety on tap but enough, downstairs. They serves pints at schooner prices during 4pm to 6pm happy hour. The pub menu was very good, with a Greek flavour, but not an extensive variety. I had the pork souvlaki, which was very good. The service was very friendly and efficient. A very enjoyable city pub for a few beers and a tasty meal.

We went here on a Saturday night. We were able to get a table to order some food and a seat for the night. The food was tasty as with most Thai food in Thai town in the CBD it is marketed towards the Thai palate more than westerners. After dinner, the place started to fill up with a Thai band coming on at around 11 pm. This is when the place really started to rock with people dancing and singing around the place. The night was a really enjoyable experience and only recently having returned from Thailand, we had a great time. Can't wait for my next trip to Sydney to visit again!
