Have been coming here in the morning before work for years. It is still a fantastic way to start the morning, with a great coffee and chat with the very friendly barristers. Plus on top of that, the view is very hard to beat.

Brisbane”s iconic City Cats (river ferries) delivered us to New Farm Park and we enjoyed a stroll through the magnificent gardens on our way to the Brisbane Powerhouse. There are 2 options for meals/drinks at the Powerhouse and after looking at menus in both places, opted for a light bite at Bar Alto overlooking the Brisbane River. Food is delicious and exquisitely presented, even though we had chosen Bar Food (which we could either eat outside overlooking the water, or inside the building where we found the noise level a little distracting.) There is also a fully blown restaurant inside, with an extensive menu for those hungrier than we were! Two of us shared Beetroot and Goats Cheese Arancini w Basil Pesto ($10), Fritti Di Baccala (creamy salt cod croquettes w Aioli ($9) and a bowl of the most delicious Chips ($9). The restaurant is ideal for meals or snacks throughout the day, and with performances, concerts etc happening at the Powerhouse daily, as well as the proximity of the extensive gardens in New Farm Park which attracts masses of visitors, what better place to relax and recharge! Staff were lovely and this is an experience to be repeated.

Here at All Inn Brewing Co you won’t find any fizzy formulaic lager. We only make full flavoured ales that are free from additives, unfiltered, unpasteurised and finings free. Catering to a wide audience including students and backpackers.

Brewery with onsite bar open to the public Thursday 4-9pm, Friday and Saturday 12-9pm. Food trucks are on site on Friday and Saturdays. Our brewery is solar powered and we have solar thermal for hot water.
Discovered Helios last year and can’t speak highly enough of it. It is brilliant for any lunch or dinner (or any other time drop in) between the rotation of food trucks, casual setting (including board games, retro console and kids play area) and obviously some great local beer. Usually also a guitarist/singer keeping everyone entertained. Chris and Scott (brewers) and Jax (venue manager) are awesome and active hosts, and are building a great venue that draws you in as part of a community. Helios has taught me that a good beer is like fruit and veg, you should be buying it fresh, and from a local supplier, not preserved from a bulk warehouse. Poseidon Pale and the Hazy are current favourites, hopefully they bring back the Midas Touch gold.
