The area around the Sjoegata street in Mosjoen town center is historical. By building, living, shopping and working in the Sjoegata street, people are making history there every day, too, just as they did in the old days. The old buildings in the street are being taken care of as an integral part of the pulsating city life there, giving character to this small town. On your tour of exploration you will find architectural gems and elegantly preserved buildings. Additionally, you will find galleries, an authentic general store, restaurants and a beautiful hotel garden from where you can fish. Architectural conservation work in the Sjoegata street has been honored with a national architecture award and a national environmental award.
What make Mosjøen a better place to stop than the neighboring towns, is this cosy old street. Many artists had exhibitions in several of these houses when we visited.

Fun old & new architecture, a food hall full of all types of dining— casual and less so, music venues, chill coffee shops, grocery storesbars, music & performance venues, & walking paths along the river. And the hip shops & venues of Grünerlokka right next door. Also adjacent to some of the oldest buildings & cemeteries in Oslo. I highly recommend this neighborhood as a base to visitors.

Beautiful area. Coffee shop on the corner on your left is excellent. Superb home made summer lemonade. Straight ahead up an incline leads to the fortress which is a complete and utter waste of time. Grab a riverside beer and get picture postcard views of the stilted wharf houses and Nid river walkway

Neighborhood with a bohemian/creative atmosphere and many unique cafes, shops and parks.
Grünerløkka was originally for factory workers sweating away in the factories that utilized the power from the Akerselva, a large stream with waterfalls deviding the city into East and West. I later years, it has become the hippest place for young, cool people to live and work. Most of the old apartments have been renovated, the parks are upgraded and there is an abundance of cafés and restaurants, mixed with second hand /vintage shops where you can find an old Dior dress or a classic, used hand bag. By the river you will find fleamarkets every weekend, and live music and concerts as well.

Vega comprises endless number of island, with bays, inlets, sounds, straights and shallow water between them. Most beautiful tableaux imaginable, and not important whether it rains or the sun shines - probably you will experience it all. Do try out water activities: Kayacking, white water rafting around the islands at hi speed, or slow fishing. Vega is rejuvenation and fonding your inner peace - enjoy!
