New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ ( listen); Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long period of isolation, New Zealand developed a distinct biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.

I’m lucky enough to live 15mins away from the Port Hills. I’m a runner and being up here as the sun rises or sets is something rather amazing. Definitely get up here if you can, the walking tracks are well maintained and the views are spectacular

Loved both these places - Eat Streat is a great place to come to but you do need to check out reviews on each restaurant hence why we scored well Both times! Worth checking out - open for breakfast through till 10 pm or so depending on the night. Atticus Finch is mainly share plates extremely tasty and Our House is good NZ food- ka pai!! Saved from demolition by the efforts of one individual, this restored historic village has specialty and antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and is a trendy nightspot.
Spending a day in Parnell Village was the perfect way to end our two-month vacation in New Zealand. The quaint little shops and galleries in this beautifully designed suburb were fun to explore and the large variety of cafes and restaurants offered an unlimited variety of delicious cuisines. What a great discovery! We will definitely be back.
