This area has everything and is very close to the Macau Ferry Terminal. Our hotel was a 2 min walk from the Sheung Wan subway station which made this an ideal area to call home for 3 nights.

The place is safe, fun, amazing. You can get 10 shots for $20 US dollars! Hard Rock Cafe is in the center and is a great place to chill. The cops are cool and no issues what so ever. You can buy your drinks at 7 Eleven and walk around. Open until 6am.. Beware: Taxi drivers will try to screw you on cab fares. Only pay what the law requires, if they don’t comply, tell them you’ll call the local authorities.

Located between Admiralty and Causeway Bay, Wan Chai has so much to offer visitors, well connected to public transport, hidden gems lay around corners and up the hills, Wan Chai is a delightful neighbourhood to stay and explore. We loved mixing with the locals at Wan Chai Park Community Garden, getting fitter on the Bowen Road Fitness Trail and Wan Chai Gap Road, climbing up to Lover's Rock, exploring Stone Nullah Lane to see the beautiful UNESCO heritage listed Blue House Cluster and Pak Tai Temple, and easily catching a bus up to Victoria Peak. Not to mention stunning Thai food at Samsen, discovering Mammy Pancakes and returning to DimDimSum for dumplings and beer.

Admiralty

Extension of Central with modern shopping areas

Reviewed By bob2bkk - Bangkok, Thailand

On my lasy few trips to Hong Kong, I have been staying in the Admiralty area. I have stayed in other areas and have enjoyed small neighborhood atmosphere, but have come to enjoy Admiralty more. The airport bus drops off at the convention center, near to the Renaissance Hotel and Grand Hyatt Hotel and it also drops off in front of the J W Marriott, which is next to the Conrad Hilton and Sangri-la Hotels so for that reason it is very convenient. Also these hotels rise above and are connected to the Pacific Place Mall. This is a luxury mall with every brand name shop, many restaurants, a cinema, and direct access to the MTR admiralty station. Trams run right out side the front of the mall and there is a walkway over to United Center Mall and beyond. Taxis are frequent and either them, trams, or MTR, you can be anywhere on the Island or Kowloon.
