Golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you've never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok. Visit Pratunam or Siam Square for premium shopping, then unwind in the European-style gardens of Dusit. Thon Buri is home to the awesome Wat Arun temple, and over in Phra Nakhon, you’ll find the Wat Pho temple of the Reclining Buddha. Savor mango sticky rice at a food stall before taking in the gilded splendor of the Grand Palace.

Located on Rattanakosin Island, this popular district in Bangkok is convenient to many of the city's palaces and temples.
Every time we visit Thailand, we stay 3 days in Bangkok to overcome our jet lagged. My hubby and I love to visit different parts of this huge place and we are never disappointed with our findings. The food ???? is always a plus. The people are awesome. O complains except (for me) the many many smells. It never last long.

The backpacking district of Khao San Road is the traveler hub of South East Asia. Jam-packed with raucous bars and restaurants as well as budget hostels, it’s a favorite for late-night revelers.
Khaosan offers a mix of delicious Thai street food (some of the best Thai pancakes I've had), resto pubs, good live music in some of these pubs, affordable shopping (you can bargain for discounts as prices are hiked up a bit), good walk, tourist tour booking stalls, lots of spa and massage & tattoo parlour, ... Whether you are in for a stroll or shopping or spa or food.. khaosan doesn't disappoint you..

At the recommendation of your tour company (Goway/Asia World Tours), my wife and I attended the Silom Village Thai Cultural Center Show and Dinner while in Bangkok for our 25th anniversary. We were awed by the music performed by the live band, and colorful intricate costumes and dancing by the 10 male and female performers. The closeness of the stage to the dinner tables made for an intimate experience and great pictures. Everyone was allowed to take pictures without extra cost during the show. The performers even stood still at various times during their dance routines to allow guests to take better pictures. You could also take additional pictures individually with the performers for an extra fee both before and after the show. The traditional Thai dinner served on low tables in small bowls was also a good experience. We highly recommend the show.

I had heard about Soi Cowboy and asked an expat friend to take me there. We went at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and it was dead quiet – shows how much my expat friend knows! We found that it starts to get going about 7 o’clock in the evening. After looking around on my first visit, I found that the Tilac Bar was my favourite for subsequent visits. “Tilac”, is the Thai word for “Darling”, I was told, and I met some right darlings there! I was also told that the Tilac Bar featured in the film Hangover 2, which was set in Bangkok. Apparently it’s the place in the scene where the main characters are offered guns for sale and Alan lets off one and hits the ceiling! On a normal evening (when no guns are for sale!) the tilacs start dancing some time between 7 & 8 pm. The good news is that it’s Happy Hour until 9pm with drinks at normal bar prices before doubling. Make sure to order a couple of rounds shortly before 9pm, so that you can drink for another hour at sensible prices, unless you buy a lady drink which is double the price at any time. Some of the tilacs offer their companionship, but I always left before 10 pm, so as not to have to buy an expensive drink, and don’t know what that involves. In the words of the Roxy Music song, "Love Is The Drug", you can guess the rest.
