Education, the arts and music are staples of life in the culture-rich city of Pune. The Pataleshwar Cave Temple, dating to the eighth century and dedicated to the god of the underworld, is a marvel of rock-cut architecture. For a panoramic city view, climb to temple-topped Parvati Hill.

If you are looking for a real escape to nature- this is the place. If you want a perfect getaway with no hustle bustle and simple homemade and organic food, this is definitely the place. Wow just loved the time spent in this totally hidden and unassuming place with so much to offer. From fresh clean air, to breathtaking views, totally fresh food, ample load of activities and above all, total connect with nature. From bullock cart, to pets, play area activities, to a variety of homegrown fruits and vegetables to being surrounded by lake from 3 sides and no commercial sound except nature, you will love this to the core. What made it more special is that it is truly hidden and you’ll not realise till you reach (don’t get mistaken by kaccha approach road and no habitat on the way), it’s a hidden gem indeed!!

This place has access from Pashan bridge end and has different diversions to go to Pashan road or to Baner Temple that diverts from the water tank. The track is clean, you can see lot of plantations going on around before the temple and not too many people for walk in morning. Nice view of the River, surrounding areas and skyline can be observed. Must visit.

One of the Best place to visit as it is surrounded by Greenaries and hills and most important is that it is one of 12 Jyotirlinga..., It is almost 2.5-3 hours journey from Pune. Once you take a left from Rajgurunagar it will be around 65KM away. Please make sure that you should not plan to visit the place in evening as there will be no good hotel in this 65KM road. At Bhimashankar also there is only 2-3 resort out of which MTDC resort is famous, however it is require to make reservation earlier. we went there in Monsoon season when the beauty of the place is at its peak. I think it is the only Jyotirling where you can touch the lord shiva linga by paying for various Puja starting from Rs.501/-. Grab this opportunity for sure:) .

Kranti Flamingo Point is registered under MTDC which is located near small town Bhigwan on Pune - Solapur Highway, 100 kms away from pune. Once you reach to the Bhigwan, you have to go straight towards solapur to reach Dalaj, then take a left turn to reach Kranti Flamingo Point. Bird watching at kranti flamingo point is real treat for bird lovers.
A decent place next to the bird sanctuary. The boat ride is like 3-4mins walk :) and what surprised me apart from the birds is the food. They serve amazing local cuisine It was beyond my expectations. Our group stayed in rooms with 3 beds so 4-5 rooms were occupied by our group and 3 members were put up in each room. They have option of tents too. Rooms are decent so are the tents. Good place to visit during the weekend if you stay in Pune or Mumbai.

This sanctuary is very close to Pune even a One day trip is sufficient enough to cover this. Do not go with high expectation of Animal visibility but yes this is for sure a good Exp. Chinkara (gazelle) are main attraction here. There is a small forest office in the Just before the main entrance where you can enter your name and details and get the receipt (If you wish to..No one checks while you are entering from the gate) Overall a good one day visit... A guide service should be made available to Explore such terrain.

This time we came upon a new trail system in Pune. Taljai traul was always there but now it is very well developed, kept clean and is quite enjoyable. I heard that the teail goes to Sinhgad too though we did not go but this is a teail system for every age group. you can do 1 loop or multiple loops, there are quite a few trails. There is no trail map that I found so you have to make sure you are on the right track by asking people. we saw plump pigs . You also see peacocks on this trail. There is a new park by the taljai trail and this park is well maintained and has beautiful flowers. We also saw a nice sunrise from the road up to taljai temple.
