Cloudbridge is a private Nature Reserve and Research Center protecting the cloudforest next to Chirripó National Park. We offer lovely hiking trails with gorgeous waterfalls and the opportunity to see amazing wildlife. We also offer accommodations for guests, and other services.
The well kept and well signed trails, the abundance of greenery and wildlife and committed staff will make your stay at Cloudbridge more than worth the trip inland. Stayed in the hummingbird cabin and was lucky to wake up to the title residents and after sundown on the property watch the coatimundis dancing in the dusk.

What a crazy hidden gem. My spouse and I stopped by just after seeing it on the way up to Cirripo Cloudbridge. We stopped by to see the butterflies but were too late (it was 4pm and you really want to see them in the morning) but we got food and I had the tastiest wrap (it was really more like an elaborate quesadilla) I might have ever had as well as a really good salad. They also did homemade gelato with both traditional and tropical flavors like passion fruit. We talked with the small community of kinda hippie-ish (for lack of a better word) expats that gathers around there, and they were some very interesting, accommodating, and amazing people. We ended up talking to them for a while. So we went back the next day and saw the butterflies. That was fantastic, they also sell it as an all-day pass with the idea that you'll see the butterflies, caterpillars, and cocoons in the morning and then come back later to see the progress on the cocoons and metamorphosis. The owner gave us the location of an awesome local swimming hole on the river within walking distance, and we made a day out of it that way. The place has food, dessert, a butterfly dome, a really fun playground for kids, a garden with a hammock, and live music in some evenings. Initially we thought the prices were slightly high, but just given what they place had to offer, I think they're 100% reasonable. This was a big highlight for our trip. Be sure to ask about local swimming holes as well.

Beautiful hike in the thick forest protected from the rain. We had rain and sun and a beautiful morning. First hike is about an hour, second one across the highway about 30 min. The friendly ranger pointed out a three toed sloth in a tree near the parking lot . Pack a lunch as there are picnic tables, bathrooms and drinking water.

Everyone said this would be super touristy, but honestly I loved it. It was full of wildlife. Our guide was great (I can't remember his name, Nochi?). We saw many different birds, wild boars, monkeys and a pit viper snake. There are some beautiful waterfalls too. The bridges are scary but awesome.
