This place is amazing. No fences no restrictive enclosures. They use negative reinforcement such as honking, yelling and banging on things to keep the bears away from civilization and positive to keep them on the sanctuary grounds. They are fed multiple times a day with a mixture of berries and nuts. The staff was very educational several people present and eager to answer questions. We got to see so many bears including Cubs! I would recommend buying your tickets at the visitors center before driving to the sanctuary. Also there is a gift shop on the site which has some cute stuff! Go early as soon as it opens to beat the traffic!!!

This green space is amazing in the middle of such an urban area. We had a great hike, using the Dragonfly trail. The trails are pretty well marked, but in some cases it was challenging to follow, but you certainly don't get lost. Take water if the day is hot(ours was and we regretted not having any). Loads of great vegetation and insect life. It was a great day.

Plenty of signs of Spring here. We enjoyed Chorus Frogs singing in the pools, various birds, waterfowl and song birds, and hiked various terrain, from prairie, marsh, sheltered river bottoms, and had a good time.

This wonderful park sits on Sorin's Bluff and has great views of the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin. There are numerous Kiosks that feature everything from area history, famous citizens to local wildlife. The park includes picnic tables, walking trails, and a 9-hole Frisbee Golf Course.

Starting Monday, May 10, the International Wolf Center is open seven days a week. Because of the pandemic, we have two separate time blocks to ensure there's enough room for everyone. We are open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the first group of people and then from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the second. Advance tickets are required for entry. To get an advance ticket, visit our website and look for the Book Now button on the lower right-hand side of the page. Masks are required. The International Wolf Center, located in Ely, Minnesota, gives visitors a chance to learn about wolves and see them in a beautiful northwoods habitat. The main attraction are five live wolves who make up our ambassador pack.

Scenic glacial hills and prairie land characterize this park.
This is a lovely little State Park. We tent camped for two nights in the lower campground; which is a mix of electric and non electric sites. Most sites in our area had trees, although probably not all would be workable if you want to hang a hammock. Ours was though. The restrooms nearby were clean and useable. The camp host for the campground was extremely friendly and welcoming. The park has a lake with a beach, canoe, and kayak rentals. There are several trails that cover a lot of area. Some go around the lake, some through the woods, and some through the gorgeous rolling hills. This is a nice place for either overnight camping or day hiking. I would love to return in the summer sometime.
