I have come to this campground a few times and must say it have been amazing and gets better with each visit! bathrooms are always clean and the staff friendly. Not sure if its the area or the common space of campers but I have met some wonderful people at other campsites LOL. I give it 10 stars !!!

Yes, Lake County has a botanical garden! Featuring Florida-Friendly Landscape (FFL) plants in over 22 themed gardens, homeowners and visitors can see different plants, trees, and even vegetables growing over 7 acres of land. They are open 7 days a week and the 3rd Saturday of each month. You can use a map to navigate around or just wander along the paved paths (accessibility!). We go different times during the year in order to see all the different blooming/flowering plants and trees. They also grow all different vegetables and fruit trees throughout the year so you know what grows when. Want to learn more about FFL? Go on Tuesday and Thursday mornings when Master Gardener Volunteers are taking care of the grounds. They are happy to point out different plants or answer questions. The gardens are part of the UF/IFAS Extension, Lake County Office and maintained by Master Gardener Volunteers. Classes and events are also sponsored, so be sure to go to the website and sign-up! Oh, they also have a Plant CLinic that is manned by Master Gardener Volunteers who are happy to assist you with your landscape and gardening questions.

National parkland consisting of 383,220 acres of various landscapes, including highlands, coastal lowlands, swamps, springs, lakes and ponds.
We hiked sections of the Florida Trail through the Ocala National Forest. Know that you can park for free where a road intersects the trail. It is an easy trail with few tree roots and other obstacles on the trail. We did not need out hiking sticks. It gently rolls in a few sections, so no significant altitude changes. There are many sandy sections. We enjoyed sections going north out out Juniper Springs and south from 314 the most as it was mostly forest with some shade. Hopkins Prairie north of 50 is pretty but sandy and sunny. We went in January, so the temperatures were in the 60s and 70s. No bugs nor mud. Do not attempt to hike here or most places in Florida in the summer other than at dawn or dusk. Here it will be swampy, in the 90s, buggy and too humid.

Florida area covering 14,000 acres of land which has an abundance of diverse plants.
This is Florida's hidden gems. They are natural clear springs. They stay the same water temperature year round around 71 to 72 degrees. They are beautiful state park that charges by the carload. They have changing rooms and bathroom and shower. They have an excellent food stand with hamburgers and hotdogs ect.really great walking park with boardwalks walking all over and also trails. There are picnic area tables and grills bring your own charcoal. It's the only spring with a tube ride (walk up to beginning of spring and float or swim) down to a beautiful clear natural pond.bring your goggles you can see all the fishes swimming around under you.great beach area for your kid's. Great area in general. Come check it out .
