One of southern Sweden bird-rich wetlands. The ca. 300-acre area located on the border between Hultsfred and Hogsby municipalities is one of the most valuable bird premises in southeastern Sweden . It is also the largest wetland claimed in Smaland.

There is also the kingfisher and the lesser spotted woodpecker. Silveran runs through the reserve. Here thrive perch, roach, bream and pike. If you are lucky you may even spot an otter.

In Kraskogle forest has been undisturbed for generations. The terrain is a trace of deglaciation Barr Natural forests of this type and size are rare in this region.
