At the foot of the Swiss Alps lies Valais, "the valley." This fabled region is a year-round favorite, with spectacular skiing in the winter and superb hiking in summer. The Matterhorn, the Great St. Bernard Pass and Zermatt are the stars of the area, but glaciers, lakes, mountain paths, castle-churches and a wealth of resorts also beckon. Visit L'Hospice du Grand St. Bernard to see the animals who helped the monks rescue travelers or the Fondation Pierre Gianadda, Roman ruins that now house modern art.

The Regional Nature Park Pfyn-Finges is located in Central Valais between Gampel and Sierre at an altitude of 500 to 4100 metres. Nowhere else in the Alps are there so many impressive, world-famous peaks of over 4000 metres than in the Valais. The Park is named after the Pfynwald natural reserve and Finges is French for Pfyn, meaning pine.

The Mont Fort is the summit of the "4 Vallées" which culminates at 3330m, it also serves a black ski run, the highest of the ski area with a breathtaking view in all the Alps, the Matterhorn and the Mont Blanc.
A whole Mountain of fun, Mont-Fort has been transformed into a place for every activity you could imagine, white water rafting, mountain biking, para-gliding, Golf, Beach Volley Ball (absolutely) sledging, ski-ing, snow boarding, walks, pony trekking, even gladiator/chariot displays in nearby Martigny. Verbier and the vallees is full of things to do all year round.

Incredible high-altitude hike, between the ‘Val d'Heremence’ and the’ Vallon de Nendaz’. Departure from Thyon, access via the Veysonnaz gondola or by road to Thyon 2000. You can recognize the Mont-Rouge by its cross, which looks out over our mountain pastures, simple and welcoming, it invites you to a well-deserved rest and offers you a magical panoramic view.

Having visited most Wallis and Berner Oberland hut during climbs and hikes, this one certainly stands out in terms of comfort, well being and facilities: nice beds, seperate rooms, clean toilets and even hot showers.Tremendous views through the floor high windows. No marschtee in the morning however. Very close to the parking so lots of tourists, but nothing anoying.
