Did a day tour from Hue with TNT Travel (booked through sinh tourist). Cost 499k dong, including a really decent packed lunch. This option for me was much more straightforward and better value than getting dropped off at the visitor centre and then getting car from there. It was a great day. Views from the summit Tower are excellent. We got to walk through a cave tunnel used by vietnamese soldiers (all the fruit bats in there added to the experience). There is an easy or challenging path down to the 5 lakes, we did the challenging path. It involves some climbing along rocks, using ropes to hold on to, ladders. Everyone in our group loved it. Moderate level of fitness required, it's not too tough you just need to be OK with a bit of clambering and climbing. Though if it's rainy I would say it's much more slippery/difficult. There were no real issues with leeches, it was a dry day until near the end. Spotted 3 small leeches on the ground and on one of our groups' shoe. More annoying were the wasps at the 3rd lake (very persistent) and ants on the trail from there (they bite).

I half want to write this review on the Chuon Lagoon— the reason being that it’s such a hauntingly beautiful place, preserved in time, that I want to keep it that way. Although I doubt that’s the case as it’s well visited by many Hue residents in the summer. This lagoon provides the life source for many fishermen; if you take a stroll you will get a peek into their lifestyles where their days are divided into the two trips where they go out in the early am to cast the nets. Then the afternoons when nets are collected, hopefully with fresh catches of the day. The seafood here is well renown for its freshness— I have not tasted better crabs anywhere around the world, including the Maryland Blue Crabs.

I red some reviews that the waterpark was closed due to safety matters but me and some other people managed to get in through the forest. If u are at the gate, ride a bit back, park your bike and take a right on the small road. After a 10 minute walk and some help of gps you will find the waterpark. The park is stunning, the dragon in the lake is a beautiful building, you can take some nice pictures when you are standing in its mouth :). After the dragon you van walk further towards the actual water park with the slides an pools. All in all a great adventure and if u like these kind of places you have to visit this!

We were travelling by minibus from Hue to DaNang along the spectacular and picturesque Hai Van Pass on National Route 1A that connects the two cities. It was a beautiful day with great visibility. The twisting 21km pass traverses the Annamite Mountains and affords some incredible views of the mountains and ocean below. Keep an eye out for signs of wildlife. We didn’t use the tunnel thereby ensuring the most scenic journey. Historically the pass is of great strategic importance as it provides a natural boundary between northern and central regions. Indeed it was still possible to see bunkers from the Vietnam war along the route. There were places to stop and take photographs but caution is advised as this can be a dangerous road especially if misty or dark. Take your time and enjoy the views.

We began our trip to Vietnam at the Ana Mandara Beach Resort at Thuan An Beach. I expected it to be relaxing and beautiful. It far exceeding our expectations. Going for walks on the beach every morning as the fishermen were launching their boats was a highlight, along with watching the sunset at the beach. Although such a beautiful resort is there, the area around it is still relatively untouched. I surely hope it remains that way. I can't wait to go back again!!!
