It was such a nice place to see ! We walked around, but couldn't complete a trail because it was closed. The view on Lake Ontario is breathtaking and it is a must-see if you like nature.

Lemoine Point Conservation Area

I love going for walks here no matter the season! In winter they provide bird seed so you can feed chickadees and sometimes other birds right out of your hand over even off your head! I've always seen owls and many deer here. As a photographer it is a great spot not too far from the city to have that great escape from the busy city life. It's very peaceful and there are multiple trails you can walk which is fun! Also a great place for a photoshoot with friends :)

Parrott's Bay Conservation Area

Reviewed By organicroadmap - Ontario, Canada

Great trail systems, really nice green space in L&A with wild animals, and birds. Trek through grasslands, marsh areas, around the bay through treed areas and coniferous forest. Easy trail in most sections - when you move off the gravelled path areas into the conifers, the terrain changes to moderate in some areas with short, steep inclines/declines. There are no facilities at this location.

Charleston Lake Provincial Park

Reviewed By Melissa976 - Oakville, Canada

Our first time at this park and we really enjoyed it. Stayed in Meadowlands with a 36' RV and there were quite a few large electrical sites with trees/privacy. Right across the road from the visitor's center and a couple hikes. No cell service at the campground but we were able to get a weak signal at the beach. Beach was 1km+ down the road so had to drive, next time we'll try for the campground that's closer. There were lots of hikes to choose from with various levels of difficulty. We really enjoyed the Sandstone Island hike (including 9 year old and teenager), it had interesting rock formations and you can download the trail guide on your phone to follow along at the posts. There was a large boat ramp and 2 docks at the very end of the park, past Sandstone Island trail. We found it by accident but it was perfect for the boys to throw in their fishing rods for an hour or two. Disappointed that canoe and kayak rentals were closed due to covid - we've been to many other Parks this year and have been able to rent kayaks ... so not sure why this park was any different? Would have been great to explore the lake in a kayak, it was huge and seemed beautiful from the beach.

Needs more parking maybe. Mostly you need to park on grass. Not the safest with red hot catalytic converters sitting on dry grass. Great trails.

City Park

Reviewed By chiefgirl - Brockville, Canada

My Husband and I were here briefly on May 31st during our honeymoon in Kingston. We are from nearby Brockville. We got off the Kingston Trolley stop here to walk back to City Hall via the historic residential section. We learned from the driver that the park was originally destined in the mid 1800s to become the location of the Parliament buildings for Canada if it had happened that Kingston remained the country's capital. However Queen Victoria changed Canada's capital to Ottawa, so the current Parliament buildings were built there instead. Very interesting fact! We love walking in parks with grand trees, and this park is certainly one of them! We also viewed the statue of Sir John A MacDonald (Canada's first prime minister) at the southeast corner of the park on King St.

Good amenities - huge covered picnic area. Children’s play equipment. Good band shell. Terrific walkway with benches overlooking the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County. Lots of parking. An enclosed dog area. And in the summer a great splash pad. Several soccer fields. Lots of open space with trees and grass

Cooper Marsh Conservation Area

Reviewed By VernonBirdman - Dorval, Canada

This is a great location for nature hikes. Since their welcome Centre is currently closed due to COVID, it might be a good idea to print their brochure and map off their website as there are several trails of different lengths and themes. The trails and boardwalks seem well maintained although their markings and directions could be better for first timers. There are several benches and picnic tables through the site. Highly recommended and free too!!!!
