Srinigar is a modern waterworld, dominated by Dal Lake and its twisting waterways, tree-lined Nagin Lake, and the Jhelum River. Engulf yourself in local culture by embracing your sea legs and renting one of the wooden boats called shikaras for a daytime or twilight cruise. On land, stroll through the terraced hillsides of the 400-year-old Mughal Gardens, created by Emperor Jehangir for his wife, and shop for indigenous crafts like hand-woven silks and embroidered shawls.

Anyone planning a trip to Srinagar has to opt for a shikara ride to enjoy the beautiful dal lake. Though you can go shikara ride anytime, Best time to visit is in late afternoon as u can see snow clad mountains ,experience cool breeze and slowly see the lights lit up all over the lake in the houseboats and road.... Small garden in between the Dal lake...It is deep somewhere while somewhere it is full of weeds.... And can see the bottom.... The small shopkeepers try to sell u their products as u go for a ride.... But they are not authentic and not good in quality....u can see shops set up in Dal lake... During winter It is covered with a layer of ice.... And if temp drops shikaras don't work.... Must visit place in srinagar

Kashmir is heaven. Each and every place we visited had it's own beauty. Betab valley is very very beautiful. Hindi movie Betab was filmed here therefore it named as Betab valley.

Situated along the banks of dal lake and nestled in hundreds of mighty chinar trees, nasim bagh is a must visit spot for autumn lovers. Nasim Bagh which means the ‘mornning breeze’ stands up to its name as cool breeze from the Dal lake adds pleasantness to the wide expanse of chinar trees. The Chinar trees are laid out in ‘Char Chinar’ pattern, four chinars in four corners of a rectangular piece of land, so that a person in centre would be under shade at all hours of the day. No place can match the beauty of this place in autumn. during autumn, Warm crimson red leaves falling from the chinar trees fill the campus and truly make it a unique place for visitors.

We traveled from Srinagar to Sonmarg in one and half hour. It is 75kms. We reached in between the snow clad mountains, stunning meadows and luckily it was snow fall today that is icing on the cake. What more you need. Really enjoyed the snowfall. We hired jackets gum boots and pony for Rs 3000/- The person took us to see three points. The thing I love most about winter is playing in the snow! Me and Rajesh played a snowball fight, we made footprints and many many more!!! There is absolutely nothing more peaceful that I can think of than watching snow gently fall. Amazing experience!!!!!
