Hector was an amazing guide. He took us on a wonderful excursion of a coral reef that was easily reached from the beach. After seeing a ton of wildlife on the reef, he allowed us to use his equipment to try to see sea turtles in another area. Highly recommended!

The most popular of San Juans beaches is also the most lively.
A must visit if you are in Puerto Rico. San Juan is full of beautiful beaches and great places to visit. A visit to the beach is best done at ocean park. This dog friendly beach has a track for running volleyball tennis. And many amenities. There are many Airbnb apartments throughout.

A narrow body of water that separates the Condado Beach area from the rest of San Juan.
We went kayaking and paddle boarding this Februay and had a close up encounter with the Manatee family that lives in the lagoon. Luis at the Condado Plaza rental shop was helpful and steered us in the right direction to see these amazing mammals.

Balneario Carolina is long stretch of white sand just east of the Isla Verde area in San Juan. It has a parking lot, restrooms, and showers. There's a kiddie water park at the eastern end of the beach.
Lots of parking ($5), restrooms, showers, shade trees, security, lifeguards. Mostly clean (people are pigs). Beautiful, clear blue water. I was surprised to see only one food stand open, but better than nothing, I guess! We went to only one other beach (Pine Grove), which was fine, but this one was better. It's a big beach, so there may have been a lot of people, but it definitely didn't feel crowded.
