Mt.Malasimbo is one of the mountains towering over the beaches of Puerto Galera. It is the home of the indigenous Mangyan tribe. There is a small snaking road for vehicles on the mountain as well as unpaved roads for 4x4s, ATVS, dirtbikes, and motorsport enthusiasts. Mountaineers and climbers can trek to the summit in 4-5 hours.

My partner and I were recently in Puerto Galera for a summer vacation. I'm a city girl and told him I wish to snorkel and visit a beach with CLEARRR water (as I have never seen such thing in my life). He took me to Boquete Island as a pit stop during our snorkel activity, and damn I am in love with how clean and clear the water is! I was waddling around the shores while my partner was soaking in the sun and I came across Patrick the Chocolate Chip Starfish! What a cutie! He was the highlight of my day!!! Don't worry: I left him back where I found him in the water.

Stay at big Laguna so it’s 1 hr by road, took a jeepney (2500 peso ) which is the cheapest for big families. then had a trill on the carabao ride to the waterfall , absolutely worth it (about 20mins ) . Had pre pack food for the trip to the waterfall by a local villager for 3400 peso with chicken , huge shrimp n fish n papaya . Was even able to share with the locals who were hungry . Water was clean n there wasn’t any crowd . No rush for time but the locals follow us everywhere n was really asking for tips for whatever services they could render. Feel free to give .

This was a superb beach indeed. My wife and I spent an idyllic afternoon here and luxuriated deeply. It was the perfect place to catch a few rays and relax to the maximum extent.
