Mid-week visit to Palm Beach was wonderful on a sunny day. Basically 10 people on the whole beach!! Lovely spot. Perfect beach!

Beach located on Sydney's northern peninsula.
Whale Beach is a gorgeous spot, a relatively small beach of clean sand and sparkling water, defined by massive headlands at either end. The beach is patrolled and so swimming is quite safe - and there is lovely pool carved into the rock platform at the beach's southern end. It has long been one of my favourites in the Sydney area. The only negative is access: the beach is tricky to reach by public transport so basically you need a car to come here, and then parking is extremely expensive if you aren't a local resident. Unfortunately, free street parking is very hard to come by, too.

This is a beautiful beach with surf and golden sand. It is patrolled by surf-lifesavers, so it's best to swim between the flags OR in the excellent ocean baths on the southern end of the beach. Council has also provided a shower/tap for rinsing salt and sand off before you go home. There are plenty of seats (in both sun and shade) and a grassy area and children's playground. Just one block back from the beach are restaurants, cafes and other shops (with parking available).

Bilgola Beach may be just a few hundred metres long but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with its charm and natural beauty. The beach itself ticks lots of boxes, golden sand, sparkling clean water and flanked by two imposing headlands. And the natural beauty is enhanced by the narrow, protected valley behind the beach. While there is a small community of (expensive!) houses here, they are surrounded by mature trees and remnant rainforest. It really does look like a subtropical paradise. Not much in the way of amenities here, just a toilet block, an excellent little kiosk and at the base of the southern headland large ocean baths for safe swimming / doing laps. (There is a surf club and the beach is patrolled.) I am very envious of the lucky few who actually get to call Bilgola Beach home.

Mona Vale may not be the most picturesque of the Northern Beaches but it makes up for this in lots of other ways. It offers something for everyone: families, swimmers, surfers, walkers, even beach fishermen. There is a good-sized carpark though parking is very expensive if you are not a local. It is a long beach, so in post-Covid times could be ideal for social distancing! Mona Vale is good for long walks, as for a large part of its length the local golf course backs onto it, giving it a bit more of a 'bushland' appearance, and at low tide it is easy to walk around the rock platform at the southern end and then walk the length of Warriewood Beach, and back again. At the northern end of the beach there is another extensive rock platform out of which a large ocean pool has been excavated. This is popular with swimmers as can be the small sheltered beach beyond the northern platform, which is called The Basin.

Excellent camping place or day visit in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park with easy access to good facilities and supplies. Vehicle access from Terrey Hills. Very calm and picturesque. Free roaming native animals. Excellent electric bbq and covered areas for other day-only events. Very worthwhile trip on the ferry across from Palm Beach but get to Palm Beach early. This place can fill quickly and early

Peaceful beach, with great perspectives on sunsets, and ideal venue for some sundowners on the beach with friends and family. Can also be a nice romantic spot for couples as well. The facilities are very good, great bbq spots, toilets are well lit and clean.

It's a good place to walk you and your dog. Not far from the flying fox cafe, along a short bush track and over a small bridge. Nice views over Pittwater

Warriewood is a lovely beach on the northern beaches of Sydney. Patrolled in summer with access to the beach from the car park. There is free street parking if your prepared to walk down the hill.
