Palermo is an urban melting pot characterized by history and culture so diverse that it often feels conflicted. Discover an intriguing range of architectural styles, from Arabian domes to baroque buildings, and enjoy delicious cuisine that spans a variety of origins. Be sure to visit the Palace of the Normans, the Palatine Chapel and the church of St. John of the Hermits. Art and music lovers won’t want to miss the Galleria d’Arte Moderna (the “GAM”), the Salinas or an opera or ballet at the Teatro Massimo.

We actually walked on both sides of the park. The trail was easy to walk and easy to see the direction of the path. The wildlife such as dolphins, lizards and wild goats was amazing. History and natural beauty are all over this park. All in all it took all day to really appreciate all the park has to offer. Parking is easy on both sides, the trails are well maintained. The view changes on every corner!! Do some reading on the history of the land (WWII), origins, etc... You will understand more clearly why this is a Natural Reserve

This is a lovely long sandy beach, not too crowded. The east end (towards Palermo) is pretty much a normal beach but also worth walking up to the west end of the beach in what is presumably "old Mondello" with dozens of fishing boats around the old harbour.

Villa Giulia is a public park situated along Via Lincoln, close to the Botanical Gardens and was opened in June 1778. The park was designed by Nicolo Palma and is named after Princess Giulia d’Avalos Guevara and was the first public park in Sicily. It was immediately apparent on entering the park how tranquil the place was. I found Villa Giulia to be well maintained and a very tranquil space. I walked from Palermo Centrale which took about 15 minutes but it is possible to get to Villa Giulia by bus.
