Top 10 Nature & Parks in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

December 8, 2021 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Established in the Himalaya foothills by a British Army officer in 1820, the "Queen of the Hills" stands above the rest with its deep woods, favorable climate and Doon Valley views. Its name is derived from the berry-covered Mansur shrub found in abundance around this trekker-friendly area. Vestiges of its colonial past are still reflected in the cuisine and architecture. For stunning natural sights, head to Gun Hill or Childer's Lodge, the two highest peaks, or the famous Kempty waterfall.

Happy Valley

Dalai Hills or Happy Valley as we know it, is an extension mountain peak of the Tibetian Buddhist Temple of Mussorrie. Till date there is a wonderful civilisation settled of Tibetians around here. One has to climb for 10 mins wherein he would get to see the total view of the beautiful city from the top. While climbing up you would come across the Buddha Statue which is where you wanna reach to meditate for a while. But when you cross that and move ahead towards the mountain ranges you would see the real beauty and the soul would get its peace automatically. The view from the top is really beautiful and you feel lucky to be able to climb up till here and see this serene earth created by god. You would realise there is some force which exists who made this all and one should really value it. There are two tea stalls one before you reach the buddha statue and one after it. Both are places worth a stop sip some small tea coffee and click beautiful pictures for memory. The path itself is so lovely wherein there are flags with chants written on it. Overall I feel blessed to come here. So if you are in Mussorrie don’t forget to come. The drive from the Mussorrie library to this place is around 5kms which is not far and there is ample car parking near it after which you need to walk trek and climb. Have a great climb fellows.

There are amazing views in this beautiful wooded park in including The Himalayas. There is also a very special viewpoint called Flag Hill which is adorned with Tibetan flags and where you make a wish or blessing. Wear hiking boots. Although the trail is not too tough there are stones underfoot & you need to have a good grip. Definitely go with a guide. Ours brought binoculars and pointed out some of the rare birds & showed us footage from the hidden cameras that showed a leopard in the same spot as we were only hours before!

Bhatta Falls

Reviewed By Kuldeep77 - Hisar, India

Bhatta Fall is one of my favourite places in Mussoorie. It is almost 15 Kms far from Mall Road. To reach there, either you can use ropeway or you can take your vehicles down the hill. Although, somewhere slop is a quite steep but you can take your car if your driving skills are good enough. The main attraction is a waterfall for it you have to walk a bit. I could not go there as I was a bit tired and the weather was not so good. But there is a kind of fun park. You can enjoy with your family there. There is a swimming pool, a place for boating and a restaurant. The scenic beauty of the valley is mesmerising. And near the swimming pool, there is a small fall. For kids, it would be a good place to have fun.

Kempty Falls

#LATEPOST PLEASE DON'T VENTURE OUT UNTILL & UNLESS IT'S REQUIRED - TRY TO STAY INDOORS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE & KEEP YOURSELF & EVERYONE AROUND YOU #SAFE ???? Kempty Falls is one of the popular go to destinations for any tourist or traveller visiting #Mussoorie and hence, this one was on our list too when we were at Mussoorie during our one month long self drive vacation across #Uttarakhand in #Feb2020.. Ofcourse, if you have to experience the falls at it's very best - the peak tourist season is the right time to drop in - April to June - one can take a bath or even swim in those falls - adequate changing rooms are available on all levels.. The water flow was obviously pretty less when we visited which actually instigated the travel blogger inside me to try and find the source of the falls - it was an uphill trek for about 3 kms but absolutely worth the effort when I saw that beautiful turquoise green water at the source.. ???? My humble two cents: #MUSTVISIT #Travelstories #LifeofaTravelBlogger #ShotonOneplus7Pro #MussoorieDiaries Journey of an Epicurean Cine Trotter continues.. ????
