Parc Animalier et Botanique de Branfere

Reviewed By KJW2512 - London, United Kingdom

This is a nature park with a difference. A mix of more traditional zoo enclosures which are large, well thought out for the animals and beautifully maintained, together with large spaces where the animals can roam free amongst the visitors. There is plenty to see. The aerial walkway was an added bonus. It looks terrifying, but once you’re up it’s amazing and kids of all ages absolutely loved it. No picnics in the park, but plenty of space outside provided and a variety of good eateries are available at a reasonable price.

Jardin des Remparts

Reviewed By bonjgb1009 - Poole, United Kingdom

While we were in Vannes we couldn’t park at the Halles des Lices and being one-way the only way out was through the narrow Porte de Poterne and across the even narrower bridge to the main road. Wonderful. Not only was there cheap parking on the Rue Francis Decker but we were suddenly looking at the magnificent ramparts of the city and the ramparts gardens. The views from the road and especially from the bridge are awesome, the gardens are so well kept with a small river flowing through the gardens. One access to the gardens is steps from the bridge and at the bottom you pass old half-timbered buildings of the “Lavoirs de la Garenne (washrooms)” right on the river and from the little covered walkway there is the view of a brilliant set of sluice gates on the river under the bridge. It was very easy to spending a couple of hours wandering up and down the gardens especially as it was a sunny day and the flowers and trees were in bloom.
