A cape in Wanli, near Taipei, famous for its hoodoo stones, thin spires of rock formed by sedimentary stone. Many rock formations have creative names, including the most well-known “The Queen's Head.”
You will feel like you have just landed in an alien planet with its landscape of quirky and eccentric-shaped rock formations with equally eccentric names such as Queen’s Head and Cute Princess. Shaped by the awesome forces of nature (wind and waves), this place is so unique that you will be utterly moonstruck. At a reasonably-priced entrance fees of NTD 80, you are free to roam freely within this geopark as long as you observe 2 rules - do not touch any rock formations or venture beyond the red lines drawn on the ground. This attraction can easily be packaged as a day tour together with Shifen and Jiufen.

This is by fast the most beautiful resting place for any artist in the world. So beautifully created everything! From her beautiful grave site to giant piano, green landscapes decorated with flowers... beautiful stone carvings.. Although I couldn't go inside the main garden where I wanted to but yet truly mesmerized from my visit. Thanks!

I was amazed by the rock formations in Yehliu, Wanli, New Taipei City. I love the Queen's Head Rock. I strongly recommend this sight whenever anybody is in Taipei, Taiwan. You can just rent a van or join a tour group and it is only 40 minute ride from Taipei. The rock formations are really amazing and you can see the Princess Head I and II, the mushroom rock formation, the leopard, Queen's Head I and II, etc.

We had a day trip to Yeliou from Taipei by bus (it is very comfortable). We had a lovely Summer day. We visited the Geopark where we could see amazing sand formations (formed from sand by the ocean/wind/rain and who knows). I have never seen such kind of formations so I like it so much. Also the park is very nice with its incredible blue/green colours. If you are in Taiwan, don't miss the possibility to visit this place.
