Go early. We stayed at Ziguangyuen Hotel and started our journey at 5am on a village road to this Island and arrived slightly past 6am. We were lucky as even before arriving on the island, which you will need to buy ticket before crossing the bridge to the island, we could see trees with rime. The right conditions must be fulfilled before rime can be created, thus maybe a prayer the night before will help. The rime is soft and can be created on us too, as all of us grew older in minutes with rime forming right in front of our eyes.. it was a sight to behold and laugh about... now we know how we look like with grey hairs.

Relatively new ski field with good facilities. The ski lifts that have front cover to protect you from the strong winds; there's lockers to keep your skis/ boards beside the ski fields; relatively fast speed gondolas / ski lifts..what I like most is the night skiing, something to do at night! There's also the 'wave' obstacles and a mini children ski playground to practice your skills. For those tired of skiing, there the rubber tyre that you am slide down through igloos and lanes. There's not much natural snow when I was there, but there is supposedly a few lanes of off piste skiing. They have been nominated as the official partner for the 2022 Beijing winter Olympics, so hopefully they would continue building up their ski fields! Would love to come again!

The mountain location of the park opens a beautiful view on the Jilin city. The temples and building are definitely worth a visit. Despite being a tourist must-see spot the park is quiet and peaceful. Perfect for a weekend walk. There are elders playing chess, cards, fishing and practicing Thai chi. There is also a pine tree park in the mountains which makes it easy to breath and fresh place. There are also a souvenir places and candle vigil prayer designated places for a peaceful mind and own thoughts. Definitely a « must see » Jilin historic sight.
